Hello my dear Steemians,

While I am looking through our album of recent visit of London, I wanted to share those photos of the sightseeing places, actually once you are in centre of London you can not miss this important place. It is a Palace of Westminster and also it is a place for Parliament, where the government of UK is gathering and a place of important decision making.

The place is spectacular especially if you will be able to come close and feel how much details were put into this architecture. The stones are regularly cleaned because it is quite busy traffic and also exhaust from cars produce a lot of pollution that easily cover the stone. The whole colour is almost golden when it is clean and it is very easy to recognise.

Once you are so close, there are a lot of people, local and also majority of tourists, people making selfies, nowadays it is great you do not need a camera if you have modern smartphone. Also we heard many many languages. It made me smile when some people were showing their family around with their phones.

This is how it looks if you are at the foot of the building, it is very, very tall. We again were lucky to have such nice, warm and sunny weather.

While we were on the way to hotel, we used this small street and were nicely surprised these buses with the characters from cartoon "Paddington Bear" but also the bus in the middle was from "Harry Potter" ghost bus. The children around were very excited to see such buses. I think because it was late they were just parked there maybe till next day.

While passing by we came across another famous place that everybody know and might have seen in TV it is Piccadilly Circus. People like to meet here and also to have their lunch breaks on the steps of the statue.

Hope you enjoyed this little tour with us.

Hallo Stef1.

I was to a trip in London when I was 15. I would have liked to visit enough places, like Westminster Palace, but the trip was too short. It was a student's vacation and the school was in the south of England, so my students' group had only 2 days to visit London. We only could visit Buckingham Palace's gardens (the Palace itself was closed to tourists in that moment) and the Wax Museum. We saw the rest of London only by the windows of the bus...

You are right the trip to London for sightseeing should be at least 3-4 days to be able to see around without trying to visit many places. I believe a lot has changed since and you might not recognise everything now.Luckily the old historical places will remain the same but of course overcrowded by tourists. For us, we have seen enough for next few years :)

Yes, of course: my London trip was more than 30 years ago. What a nostalgia...

Thank you @olesia, yes, I remember myself many years ago it was a goal to visit London once and it is really a place that represent a lot of history and it is good to see everything once with your own eyes.

Great shots! Making the trip across the pond and visiting London is definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Phil, yes, it is a place worth to visit. If you will think about a place to stay then get a hotel close to centre like Soho is an area of the City of Westminster in the West End of London. We took hotel there, it was about £220 or so family room, we could reach anything by foot, so no expenses for transport during the day and were able to visit everything :)
