Hello my dear Steemians,

Today my post will be about our Community "World of Xpilar". Many of you know us very well and know what we are doing, many of our Moderators are users who were on chain from beginning. In order to identify who is the oldest member let's have a look when Steemit was created. To find it, it is enough simply to check in Wikipedia:

Then, checking our registration date we can say that @xpilar is the oldest user who registered in July 2016

Followed by @sultan-aceh and @stef1 both joined in August 2017 and @axeman and @mister-omortson both in October 2017

In 2018: @franyeligonzalez in January 2018 and @adeljose in May 2018, @bambuka October 2018

Then @the-gorilla in March 2021

What is the strength of WOX?

Thank the Steem Power of admin @xpilar and his Norwegian Teamthe total Steem Power of Community trial is high. @xpilar is not only advertising the Steemit and Steem on platform but with his help there are strong Norwegian Investors those names are familiar to everyone because they are all part of the WOX trial, making together $768,160 Steem Power

@xpilar
@reflektor
@hingsten
@bippe
@bigpower

The accounts are there and daily voting multiple users not only within but also outside of our Community. All of you have seen the same names that are Delegating to the winners of SPUD days on monthly basis

  • @xpilar donating Steem to any activity that is running within and often outside of Community. The latest one was the post of @the-gorilla for mobilizing users to write review about the Steemit, @xpilar immediately offered his contribution.

WOX-Helpfund Donation

The other projects that he recently sponsored was Donating 1000Steem for the Bosco family in Uganda and to many other families for their health treatment.

The total sum of Donation over last year was 6,250.00 Steem

@xpilar Project to become "Dolphin" and new to be an "Orca" for 3 weeks

@xpilar always has many ideas and projects how to make the people engaged and how to support them, therefore, he started the projects to support the most engaged people and give them a chance to grow and become "Dolphin" and now the new one to be an "Orca" for 3 weeks. Who else voluntarily will give anyone their Steem Power? Nobody, except @xpilar!

UPVU, what do you think about that?

We all remember the time when @the-gorilla did a post about "Are You Scared Of UPVU Yet?"

In the past when @xpilar was having his Steem Power for himself and voting people, despite of having 200K his posts got only between $11-$13 and "steemcurator01 did not really visit his posts maybe because of his high SP. I found it unfair as many of us, moderators were supported by SC01, that is why I suggested to delegate to such service like Upvu some of Steem Power, so that he will get rewards and then he could still be sponsor and donate better. I am glad that he agreed and did so.

So seeing the post of about Upvu, I was waiting for the comment from him and here it is and I am completely in agreement with it:

UPVU-proxy

For many of us UPVU is just voting account for delegation but there is a far bigger goal behind. You might remember, until very recently we had many inactive "Old-Witnesses" still blocking the first Top 20 of Witnesses. With the SP of Upvu it was now possible to give stronger vote and bring active, engaged pro-Steem Witnesses in Top 20. The Upvu account posting their updates and sharing what they are doing:

image.png

*Also reading through what are the criterias for Witnesses that Upvu is voting will also make people to do everything to make Steemit and Steem better, because otherwise the Witnesses will lose the Vote of Upvu.

Everything sound very reasonable and it finally feels like people will start to work. Also, there is now a Community:

What is better to stack Steem or to Sell?

At the end I simply wanted to ask everyone what is better to stack our Steem Power or Power Down?

You can see many users who are still having Steem Power, although it is delegated to Upvu, but it is there. We are Investors we have bought Steem initially, many of us earned but we are Powering it Up! Everyone who has couple of hundred thousands on their bank account would like to have dividends, because it is their money. Why not to do it with our investment?

As @stef1 we have Delegated a half of our Investment to @Upvu but we still have half of it and we are Voting users with this SP. You know that we are still having a privileged of nominating the users of WOX and Visual Art for @booming account but look into our accounts @stef1 and @art-venture we have never given ourselves @booming, neither in the past nor now.

Compare how much Steem Power of us who is using Upvu is stacked, that makes the amount of Steem on market less and that will bring the Price UP! Now compare to those users who were very active and were supported by Steemcurator01 for their good jobs but after a short life they Powered Down and Left:

@papi.mati, @sapwood, @kiwi-crypto, @fendit, @belenguerra, @oppongk and many others

If no Upvu service who knows how low Steem Price would be because the Investors would also sell all their hundred of thousands that probably would be the end of Steemit.

At the end I think it is a decision that each of us are making depending on many different circumstances and I do not think we can blame anyone whatever decision is done.

Dear Karly and Stef,
to be honest, I find it hard to believe what I see and read here.
To make a long story short:
On the one hand, I do believe that there are very good developers behind the Upvu team who have developed their "service" with a well-intentioned background. Yes, maybe this one is even good for the ecosystem, because a certain part of STEEM is actually kept in the system as SP (a small part: most big Upvu users (see "trendings") pull out large amounts of liquid STEEM). Similarly, I think the "Witness Initiative" is good and Steem-friendly.
On the other hand, I see how Upvu votes blindly or automatically. Everything: spam, single images, single sentences, even empty posts and above all: plagiarism. So everything that you have always fought against with so much strength and engagement to keep our platform "clean" is being voted for. I'm sorry: you are now supporting exactly what you were upset about.
Assuming that this abuse did not exist, everything would be fine? You are strengthening your walltet and that of Upvu. That's okay, that's your right. After all, it's a way to make money on the Steem. That's what you can choose, "rewarding good content" and CR is not everything. And now let's assume that all the big and bigger stakeholders take this opportunity for themselves. That leaves us with the pyramid system you never wanted: The rich get richer and richer, while the little ones are left with "handouts". This is definitely not an environment in which I feel comfortable.
"The sc is not everything! The communities must be strengthened, the members should be rewarded for good content, for their engagement by the community!" Excuse me? Where are the rewards supposed to come from if the stakes, which - as in your case too (apart from your own investment) - were built up for example by the sc with a lot of support, are not available?
Yes, you delegated "only" 50%, rest still goes into curation. Concerning to the upper argument (blind voting of spam and plagiarism) I have to admit that in my eyes even "only" 50% are 100% too much for taking part in supporting crap.
I would be happy if you could convince me of another - less negative - point of view, because I thought we had a very similar one so far: for a better, fairer Steem.
Liebe Grüße,
Christiane

Dear Christiane,

I have read a lot about the plans and the goals of UPVU, because couple of years ago steem-agora already wrote that in his posts and mentioned what is the aim of it. I did not think that they will reach what they have reached and I am glad that nowadays they post also in English and also it is nice to see what they achieved.

The blockchain is not only blogging, the capacity of Steem blockchain is not used we are only using it for blogging but there is much more potential of it.

When it comes to communities we can see how many just build up, growing and once they reach some level they are powering down and go, the same like some of the users.

You know the situation very well and I am not going to convince you in anything. I have explained everything in my post.

Wishing you nice start in the week,

Karly

I totally agree with your opinion, a lot of unqualified content is supported while quality ones don't get awards, if this happens destruction will come, steemit will be quiet like a grave.

a lot of unqualified content is supported while quality ones don't get awards

That's an absolutely different discussion (which I definitely won't go into) that has nothing to do with automatic "high return of investment services" like Upvu.

This text is from my point of view.

I should have added a period after saying I agree with your opinion, or separated that sentence in another paragraph.

Sorry for my comment which was written in an irregular manner.

It's all very interesting. I got started back in 2016 and wasn't able to keep up with content creation in the beginning so I pulled out of steem for a while and had bills to pay so ended up largely cashing out when I was unemployed. It was also frustrating to see that junk content would be making upwards of $200 per post when my paintings might grant me .08-.20 cents. I tried some of the delegation options and some passive reward ideas but ultimately lost faith.

I've been happily back for a long time now, over a year, posting weekly and I think I've come with a different expectation. I'm not really here to make money as the only goal. I enjoy sharing my work and building a community of art lovers and intend to just let my steem power continue to build so I can contribute to the success of others.

In the future I may have to ask you how to accelerate that growth with services like UPVU. In my case I would probably start at 10% and maybe top out around 25-30% so that I can reserve the bulk of my steem voting power for users I follow in the xpilar community.

Great post, lots to think about.

Hi Erik, yes, we are all guided by our financial situation and our capacity. Understandably, it is of benefit to be in right place and right time which the most difficult part without being able to foresee it. The same like in 2011 I was wondering if I should advise my mother to invest her saving into Bitcoin, I have not done it but now I am regretting it. We often remember that me and my husband but he always say because it is not my or ours and if Bitcoin would not reach what it reached they it would be disaster and might ruined my mother.

I am glad to have you around and to see your works. I am also glad that you are open and people getting to learn you as a bloggers and commenter. It is always difficult when you have little of Steem Power. But that was always the case.I think currently what you are doing is the best. You are known among WOX users and try to be active, commenting people and interacting when you have time. Hope that will help you to grow too :)

We shall see! I'm here for the long run this time and I've been so surprised to see some my posts reaching $10-15 which is amazing, I'm looking forward to contributing more as we go on, I like this platform and the people here. It's been lots of fun and I'm so very grateful for the support from people like yourself and bambuka and axeman to name a few. You are all doing a lot to grow this community and be inviting to artists like myself. You have my thanks!

I believe that upvu team does a great thing for the ecosystem of steem like for example they want witnesses to solely be active in steem only and concentrate in its development @stef1

I am sure the @xpilar and the rest of the community will have to adjust in this ever-changing times because we needed to survive and collectively pursue the continued success of steem. :D

I am also glad that now finally the Witnesses are gathered together and communicating but also it is good to be able to know what is done for the blockchain when we read the posts. That may attract new young people who are interesting in programming too.

Hello dear friend @stef1 good afternoon
Excellent post, invites a great reflection
I appreciate you taking the time to share all this information.
This almost from the beginning in our company, I joined in August 2016 and I am very happy to be part of this great company.

I'm just sorry I didn't do power-ups early on, I should have had a good amount of SP today; The important thing is that it is never too late to do it, and I am on the way to growth

I take this opportunity to wish you a splendid afternoon and that you do a great job in your home

It is nice to learn that you are a part of the Steemit from early beginning, the only pity is that you have not bought Steem in 2016, the price was so little that it was easy to buy thousands because later in 2017, the Price went to the highest mark. It is always easy to say something retrospectively, would be good to have a crystal ball to be able to see the future :)

That would have been the ideal dear friend @stef1, what always prevented me from acquiring steem, was my lack of saving capacity, it is not easy to be able to save when your only income is from the web
I live from what I generate on the web since 2013, it has been quite an experience for me, supporting myself for so many years with this income

enjoy the weekend

what you explained about the xpilar community is quite interesting, sir @stef1, I will get to know this great community better.

I am glad that you find it interesting and hopefully if you decide to learn users and be active you will also be seen :)

Thanks for your support, nice to meet you

Greetings friend @stef1

This is a very interesting topic to dialogue or exchange views.

For me, each user should reflect to use their Steem Power according to what they have achieved, a user who has bought with his own money a good amount of Steem Power should have the right to do with their SP what he wants, however, if they are users who have generated Steem Power thanks to the rewards provided by the current support system through the curator accounts headed by SC01, should be aware that these SP are thanks to community support so you should direct it towards them, in order to further strengthen the system of active community support.

In my case, I am very grateful for the support received, therefore, it would be a slap in the face to the support system if I decided to delegate to Upvu or in the worst case to shut down as some users have done.

Very good presentation to analyze.

I agree, each user should decide himself, we all see what is happening around and people simply find their niche. I do not think we can force anyone to do anything because it is free to everyone to do what they think better either for the person or for community if they are a part of it.

Again, ideally it should be a decentralized place and I think we can't blame anyone whatever the single user decides to do.

I am glad that you like the way how I presented the post.
