The Diary Game 03/07/24: Last day of holiday and removal of bamboo plant

Hello my dear Steemians,

Today is our last day of our holiday in Germany and we almost finished all necessary work that was planned for this time. Unfortunately, the last week was rainy that is why we did not have much opportunity to be out much. We wanted to visit couple of places with bicycles but it was too wet.

Each day we had couple of hours free of rain and today was one of the longest dry day, therefore, after our morning coffee at 7AM, we went outside and re-started our work.

The plan was to remove the stubborn Bamboo that spread itself from back garden into the path next to the house wall. Already couple of days ago we started our work and here how it was looking like

All the cut shrubs and bamboos we then have packed into the biological recycling disposal bags.
 

 
The roots of bamboo plants are not very deep and spreading to sides rather into the depth. They also look like plaited Celtic pattern that is why it is difficult to remove it. While checking for the way how to get it our, we found that the roots should be removed as entire root and rhizome including any fragments, otherwise it might come back.

It was a hard job but the soils at the end was looking clean.

You can see how it is also spreading under the bricks, that is why we had to lift those stones too.

The soil along a side is clean, we thought that the best maybe to prevent day light and covered entire area with tar sheets and also put weight using stone plates. It is hopefully will stay free of bamboo till next summer then we wanted to do some work on the wall.

My hubby was very tired at the end, we only anted to have some rest and prepare our stuff for departure tomorrow morning.
