Travel to South England: London Borough of Croydon
Hello dear Steemians,
Today is a continuation of our journey to South England. While traveling to South it is not possible to avoid the main city of London and of course many ways such as trains, planes and even cars will be going to London. When we were there we stayed in a district called Croydon, which is nothing special but due to our relatives.
It is fascinating how similar the big cities are, many people and all of them are in a harry. Last time we were there long before Covid and slowly but surely I have forgotten that hectic stream of people but only one little visit immediately brought everything back.
There are some characters of big cities that I do not like and that is a reason why we live in this small area.
- crowds
- you can notice very poor people sleeping on streets, even on central streets, covered with blankets and some of them are drunk
- rush, everything is in a hurry
- food is everywhere. There are so many shops every meter has a little shop or restaurants/ cafes, so that you can see people eating most of the time.
- garbage lying on streets despite of litter bins
- obesity: the major problem of modern society. That becoming the major problem of Health Care system.
Croydon is a large city of South London it is known as London Borough of Croydon. It definitely was a big commercial centre in early 20th century, because it is still noticeable the beauty and wealth of architecture and majority of buildings. Thank to old masters the buildings are still in a good condition despite of centuries past.
Many of those buildings of course, accommodate the governmental structures like post office, library, council. That is maybe because to keep them in well looked after condition one must have much money.
The ground floor of many buildings are occupied with small private shops and cafes and usually they decorated with colourful front but those ones do not fit in the historical architecture of the buildings. But that seems to be a problem of all big cities.
We have captured the most beautiful places in Croydon and hope you like our journey.
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
You are right, all the big cities everywhere are very similar. I also would like to prefer a small town or a small city.
The first picture is a nice example of a three-point perspective.
Yes, I love it too. By the way, I have done few homework in new post and next wanted to try your homework with drawing with photography.
Great!
Are lots of cafes and restaurants a bad thing?
