SEC-S18W6 | My travel destination in 2024 | Fairy Meadows (World's Most Dangerous Road?)
I recently stopped participating in Engagement Challenges because I lacked the time and found the posts didn't generate meaningful interactions. Honestly, about 90% of my engagement on Steemit has been outside of SEC posts. While I enjoy reading other users' articles, my reading over the past month has primarily focused on familiar authors. The comments on SEC posts have become monotonous, failing to spark my interest anymore.
However, I couldn’t resist writing about a topic I am passionate about: traveling. It's what I live for and anticipate every day. Although my profession as a doctor limits my travel opportunities, dreaming about future trips costs nothing. The topic of my travel destination in 2024 particularly caught my attention because I am eager to share my plans with you all.
My destination for 2024 is one of the most dangerous places in the world. Despite the risks, the temptation of exploring such a place is irresistible. Buckle up, because this adventure promises to be both thrilling and perilous.

Fairy Meadows is one of the most beautiful places in the world and what has life taught us? Beautiful things are often hard to attain and require a great deal of courage and patience. Fairy Meadows is situated at the base of Nanga Parbat, one of the world's tallest peaks, in the Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan. While the entire northern region of Pakistan is breathtakingly beautiful, and I have explored a significant portion of it, I have yet to visit Fairy Meadows.
There are a couple of reasons why I haven't travelled to my dream destination yet; Firstly, when I was younger, my mom never allowed to travel there due to its extremely dangerous road and trek and secondly, I could never convince any of my friends to join me on this adventure.
The road to Fairy Meadows is included in the top 10 dangerous roads in the world according to Wander Wisdom as well as many other sites. One might ask, why is that? I'll show you all how to get to Fairy Meadows from the Capital of Pakistan, ie, Islamabad:

From Islamabad we'll leave to Chilas which is a 466 Kilometers journey and will take us around 12-15 hours by car. The road conditions from Islamabad to Chilas are much better compared to the upcoming roads.

Chilaas to Raikot Bridge |

The distance from Chilaas to the Raikot Bridge is approximately 60 Kilometers and it takes around 1:30 hours on a jeep to the Raikot Bridge. The roads are considerably safe compared to what's coming next. From the Raikot Bridge you have to book 4×4 jeeps because.... Well you'll get to know....

Devilish laugh, this is where the fun starts. From the Raikot Bridge starts the real journey where even the Atheists start remembering God. Only the trained and skilled jeep drivers take you to Fairy Meadows. As I mentioned, the road to Fairy Meadows is included in top 10 World's most dangerous roads. Have a look at this:

I have a few friends who have trekked to Fairy Meadows and here is what they have to say:
- I felt nauseating throughout the journey and threw up multiple times. Had to take motilium (medicine that helps during nausea) a couple of times in this journey. There were times I felt I'll die. I could literally see the valley right next to me. I was constantly praying to God, sweating even though we were thousands of feet above the ground level.
- I tried to sleep but couldn't, so I decided to take two sedating medicines. This helped me getting through this journey without any fear as I fell asleep.

Once you make this track, and teach the trekking site, you'll have a 3-4 hour trek in front of you before reaching Fairy Meadows. It is recommended to trek it during the day time due to potential dangers such as wild animals (commonly wild bears and tigers) and once you have completed the track this is what you see:

So this is my dream destination for 2024 and I'm very close to making it to this place in July. Let's just pray the plan works out this time. Fingers crossed 🤞

এটা আসলেই একটা অত্যন্ত দুঃখজনক অবস্থা, আপনার সেই প্রিয় জায়গায় এবং ছোটবেলা থেকেই সেই প্রিয় জায়গার বিষয় জানেন এবং ভালোবাসা মায়া মমতা রাখেন। কিন্তু আপনার মা চান না সেখানে যেতে কারণ আপনি ছোট। এছাড়াও এটা খুবই খারাপ লাগলো যে আপনার বন্ধুরা সেখানে যেতে কোন আগ্রহী নন। সেজন্য আমি খুব বেশি আশা করছি অতি দ্রুত আপনার এই প্রতি কল্পনা বাস্তবায়ন হোক। ভালো থাকবেন আপনার জন্য শুভকামনা 🥰💘
Fairy Meadows look good location for travel. I just checked about it and come to know that it has been declared second deadliest road. Parents does not want us to go such dangerous spots and we should understand their feelings, they always in worry setuation when we are on such travelling. The scenery of Fairy Meadows looks good, but you need to make sure about safety on this travel.
