Day 2 )Portuguese coastal pilgrimage road to Santiago, 바다로 나간 남편을 기다리는 여인상

산티아고 가는 포르투갈 해안길 2일째에 접어들었다. 오늘은 폭풍우가 몰아친다. 대서양 해안가에 붉은색 지붕으로 단장한 아담한 소성당이 보인다. 구석기 시대부터 사람이 거주했다는 낮은 언덕에 소성당이 들어선 것이다.

The second day of the Portuguese coastal road to Santiago.The storm hit the shore. On the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, I can see a small church with a red roof. The small church was built on a low hill that has been inhabited since the Paleolithic era.

해안 사구 위로 널빤지를 깔아 잘 단장된 순례길겸 산책로가 곧게 뻗어 있었다. 걷는데 발바닥이 아프지도 않았고, 보기에도 아름다웠다.

A pilgrimage route and promenade that was well-decorated with planks laid over the coastal sand dunes stretched straight. While walking, the soles of my feet didn't hurt, and it was beautiful to look at.

과거 대서양을 호령하던 포르투갈의 범선이 모진 폭풍우를 견디며 해안가에 정박해 있었다. 곁에는 슬픈 여인의 동상이 길가에 걸터앉아 바다로 나간 남편을 기다리는 듯 애처로워 보였다.

The Portuguese sailing ship, which once commanded the Atlantic Ocean, was moored at the shore, enduring a heavy storm. A statue of a sad woman sat by the side of the road and looked pathetic, as if waiting for her husband to go out to sea.

해안을 지키던 요새가 아직도 건재하다. 이곳이 오늘 내가 묵을 곳이다. 2일째 순례를 이곳에서 마친다.

The fortress protecting the coast is still in existence. This is where I will stay today. The second day pilgrimage ends here.
