Starry Eyed ~ Playing on a Farm

We had a really fun and exciting weekend!

First we went to our very first auction, which was more fast paced then I would have ever expected, then we played by an amazing river and did a little magnet fishing. Finally, we rounded off the day hanging out with some good friends we hadn't seen in a long time!

It was one of those spontaneous visits...on accident. We were in the area, but never had enough cell service to properly get through. But we were way too close to not stop by and see if they were home.

Lucky for us, they were! Well, at least most of them. The hubs was out visiting his dad, but he came home soon enough. In the meantime though, we got a chance to meet some of their cows!

It has been a few months since we worked on the farm, and I didn't realize how much I missed these animals. The way they're so huge, and fast when they need to be, but so methodical in all of their regular ways. They lumber...they sniff...they're curious. And they are a crap ton fun to watch.

So while we were outside, the momma of the farm asked if we wanted to feed them some apples from their apple tree. Of course we did!

The Inventor had his swiss army knife at the ready, like always, so we were apple to cut the apples in half before tossing them in. Or, if you're like me...accidentally nailing a few in the head.🤦‍♀️

The Yeti (@freedompoint) asked the kids of the farm if they had ever seen the inside of an apple cut sideways, and they said no, so he chopped one in half to show them the beautiful star that was inside!

I had completely forgotten about this. It was really cool to see it again, and I really recommend trying if you've never done it before.

The cows happily, and greedily, ate up all the apples we threw in and also the feed the momma farmer put in as well.

It was really great being on a farm again. There's something about watching animals that makes you remember we are only a small portion of life here on earth.
