… hence my username is @designerandgeek.

Professional life

I'm a graphic designer and website manager. I work in a small digital publishing agency, where I do WordPress stuff, magazine layout, digital ads, graphic identities and other similar work.

Personal life

I'm a newly single father of two small girls. I live in a rented flat in Oslo, Norway. Real estate prices are absolutely crazy around here, so there's no way a single parent with a normal income can afford to buy anything these days. After selling a house, though, I have some money in the bank (just not enough for a down payment) and am looking for ways to make that money grow, so that I might at some point be able to make the aforementioned down payment.

I just recently started looking into cryptocurrencies, and thought I might wager a small amount of money (like 50 USD) to see if I was clever enough to make it grow a bit. So far I suck – more on that in another post.

In the process, I found Steem and Steemit. I had no idea this community even existed! I have several websites/blogs, but could never find the motivation to write stuff there, since it takes months or years before you start seeing anything resembling any income at all. Steemit, however, has me (a bit) excited to try out stuff!

Hobby project

I have one project that I will try to make something out of during the coming year, and Steemians will no doubt see it when it gets far enough along that I feel I can present it to the world. Won't say much more than that yet, though.

Steemit plans

I think I'll blog about anything and everything I feel is worth sharing. At some point, I might decide to focus my writing on one subject, but not now. I need to get to know this community. Looking forward to it!
