How To Meditate in 4 steps
The point of meditation is to focus and quiet your mind. It's possible to do it anywhere.
Follow these steps:
- Remove every distraction:
Find a still place, where you won't be disturbed. Turn of all electronic devices, except for a timer. Close your eyes.
- Be comfortable:
Wear a sweatsuit. You need to meditate at least 5 minutes, set your timer for the time you intend to do it, for beginners 5-10 minutes is enough. Sit down and start.
- Take deep breaths:
Inhale should last 4 seconds, and exhale about 6-8 seconds. Repeat until you feel non-anxious and calm. Don't strain to do them, simply hear the rhythm of your body, and see how it behaves.
- Be mindful
Take in account everything you feel. Start from your feet and move up to your head. What sensations do you experience, are they pleasant or not. Do not try to change them, simply observe them, without judgment.
