Seek Only For What You Will Find
More of us each day, embark on the journey of the seeker. But too many fall into the trap of searching for the wrong treasures. It is of the utmost importance then, that before we step foot upon the seeker's path, we understand what it is we intend to discover through walking it.
There are questions the thinking mind often returns to. Questions that appear on the surface to be meaningful to resolve. What is the purpose of life? Who or what is God? Is there a Creator, or is existence an accident? It is easy for one to waste an entire life searching for answers to such questions. But no answer is to be found that cannot be interpreted in several ways. Nor can any answer be verified as absolute truth, for all knowing requires trust. Be it trust in a higher power, another human, or trust in one's own mental faculties, there is nothing one can know without investing trust somewhere, and so it is, that nothing outside of one's own present experience of existence is verifiable as an absolute truth. Thus, it is within the nature of human beings to grow tired of seeking answers, and to settle upon one which they feel most comfortable accepting.
It is within the human ability to interpret any body of information in the manner of one's choosing, that we discover the irrelevance of any answer to such questions. Conversely, within the same observation, we are able to recognise the profound importance of choice, and the power that we each possess to decide upon the parameters of the reality we exist within.
Consequently, as seekers, we must remain wise enough to avoid seeking for answers that we will ultimately end up choosing for ourselves. There is no journey necessary to make such a choice. We have the power to do so in every present moment of our existence.
If we are too seek, it is far more productive that the subject of our search be a richness and depth to the undeniable human experience that has been gifted to us. Ask not what meaning there is to life, but what meaning you will choose to seize from yours. Worry not about why you were Created, or by whom you were, but what you might be able to Create for yourself or for others now that you've been granted the opportunity to do so. Seek not for answers, but for choices, and not for knowledge, but experience.
Should we find clarity on what it is we are searching for, and should we stay focused to that end and that end alone, we will find it that much sooner. Do not shy away from the experience nor the opportunity that lies before each one of us. Embrace this most treasured gift with open arms, and you will undoubtedly discover new dimensions to existence that were hidden beforehand behind a fruitless desire to know the unknowable. It's as simple as letting go of the question, why am I experiencing this? And replacing it with a new curiosity that will require your full attention - What am I experiencing?
