Episode 4

Asif shook him and told him to get up, it was morning already. He did not remember when he fell asleep. Asif smiled at him and said that he will send him to Madrasa where he will be fed good and shall be educated too and then after two hours he was sitting on the cycle and being taken somewhere he did not have any idea about.

While riding, he saw big huge buildings, colorful markets, sweet shops, cars and all those things to which he thought never existed. Then slowly everything was left behind as they started riding towards the exteriors of the city. After couple of hours Asif stopped in front of a big old building in a remote area surrounded by razor wire and there were two armed men at the entrance. Asif whispered something and they indicated them to go inside. While going into the building Shoaib noticed some boys playing in the courtyard so much wanted to go play with these boys but he was scared of Asif. As they entered he saw a big dark man who looked like a Ghazi, sitting in a chair. Shoaib got scared with his appearance. He did not look like a nice man. Asif asked Shoaib to sit in a corner and he went to general. They were speaking of something which Shoaib was unable to understand. All he knew was that he was there to get admission in Madrasa. He heard Asif laughing loudly Asif and saw him counting money. "Kisi ke naa chalta paise bina, chahe yahan chahe wahan sabse upar Jinnah" (May it be here or there but nowhere u can survive without money) Khuda Hafiz Janab said Asif he came back to Shoaib and told him that they will take you to Madrasa from here, you should study hard.. Now i am leaving , saying this Asif went out.

Shoaib was asked to go out and play with other boys. He came out and saw everyone. Hello brother, Asif turned around and saw a boy who was of his age and looked very friendly. His name was Sher Ali. Both shook hands and became friends. Sher Ali told him that he was an orphan. His parents died of joundas in refugee camp. He had no where to go and then some social workers brought him here for training and education.have sent him here for training. Sher Ali told him that he was an orphan and some social workers. They were 17 boys now and most of them are of same age group. Soon he became friends with most of them. After three days they were taken somewhere in a bus. Through out the journey he kept thinking about his mother. He was unable to take her face away which kept on flashing into his mind as soon as he close his eyes. Mountains started and he read the board saying Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

It was such a beautifull place, sorrounded by snow covered mountains. All the boys in the bus were mesmerised by the natural beauty as most of them had never seen mountains or snow in their life. What different Heaven would be, Shoaib thought. After 14 hours of Journey Bus entered into a big field which was sorounded by a 10 feet wall with watch towers and was being patrolled by guards with guns. They were divided into two groups and were taken in to a wooden cabin where already 8 boys were sleeping. Him and Sher Ali settled down in a corner ,Amazed and excited about this new place. Then the guard who brought them there told them that they will be staying in this room and gave them some clothes sheets and blankets.

Next day at six in the morning he heard a siren and everybody was told to come out. They all gathered in a field and to Shoaib's surprise there were more then 200 boys up to 20 yrs of age. Then the same Ghazi came to whom he saw with Asif. Everone respected him and he was the head of all this arrangement. He was huge and looked very impressive. Tall and wide with a long beard. He always wore black sunglases. He came to the centre and took mike in his hands. Looked at all of them and roared " ALLAH HU AKBAR" and everyone in the camp Screamed ALLAH HU AKBAR.

My children we all are son of Islam and our Islam is in danger. If someone attacks our family we make all effort to save it but this time our Islam is being attacked and it is our duty to save it from the Kafir. Those who insult Islam or invade in our Islamic territory should be killed along with their seeds. So that no one would ever dare to intervene gods work. This is our "JIHAD" and that makes you Jihadi. We are here to JIHAD for Islam and that's Khuda's work. All of those who work for Khuda go to Heaven. Here we will teach you everything and make you a perfect and deadly soldier. You all are chosen ones and it is our duty to teach you about warfare. We will make you strong. Say all of you Jihad Jihad Jihad Jihad Jihad Jihad Jihad Jihad.

Through out day and even while sleeping this one word echoed in Shoaibs mind. All he was thinking about was Jihad. He realized that everyone has a motive and a reason on earth and Jihad is his reason.... JIHAD.

Do not misguide people about critical subjects such as JIHAD, JIHAD is a complete philosophy in ISLAM which covers every aspect of life, JIHAD means to "struggle for something", "struggling for your cause" gives it a very generic meaning encompassing the whole life.
Don't write stereotype stuff about which you don't completely know. Don't attach a "philosophy" to some "specific brand of people", one can expect such things from illiterates, you are a literate, you can atleast search about and read about fundamentals of these things and then could build your opinions upon the subject.
You have no right to judge a "misunderstood topic" and then "promote" more 'misunderstanding' about that 'topic'.
Write about Satti, Caste and Creed system, Racism, rights of minorities and other topics in your mind relevant to your own society.

This is JIHAD what general Muslim public beleives in

Sir, you are absolutely right over the real philosophy over "Jihad" . Please keep reading the story and i am sure that you will agree with me in the end. I respect your opinion but i would also request you to please let the story reach the climax. After that you can conclude the spirit of the story. All religion spread word of humanity and i follow all of them with same respect and spirit.
Illiteracy, poverty and sometimes helplessness push people towards violence. I respect your opinion and i would request you to please have some patience and let me conclude it in the way i saw it while thinking about terrorism and violence.
Thank you for your comment and i shall appreciate them in future. @kay-khosa

you are correct in what you say. "Illiteracy, poverty and sometimes helplessness push people towards violence".... Very true, @honeychum :)

what i understand (my understanding may be wrong) is that writer has shown two extremes, one extreme is JIHAD and other extreme is NIRVANA, he is trying to show the transformation of a boy (Shoaib) from state of JIHAD (according to topic very sinister thing----one extreme ) to state of NIRVANA(extreme pure state of being).
So i dont agree, terrorism, violence, anarchy, HARB, QITAAL is something entirely else from being called a JIHAD. JIHAD is actually opposite of all these things, inner struggle of a being to resist such urges.
I am sorry @honeychum i ruined your post, but this matters to me and billions of people. I brother lives in UK, people build their opinions about which they dont understand and common people (Muslims) suffer because of that. It is not about muslims only, it encompses other religions as well.

the literal meaning of "Jihad" is "crusade" or "battle" ! We all know this. The battle can be internal against inner demons. It can be external against perceived external enemies. And it can be distorted as it is in fanaticism and terrorism. The writer, @honeychum, is talking about how the basics or faith and crusade are distorted by the selfish and fed to the needy and vulnerable. And the world has been brainwashed like this. There are many parts to the story, @kay-khosa . And these parts will deal with many aspects. Savour the story first :)

you seem very certain about everything @nehab , "Heresay is inadmissible as an evidence in courts".
If you find some time then do check this link out and correct yourself about things of which you don't have experience/Knowledge.

"Certain" like you, @kay-khosa? ))))))

i am the part of that culture, was born in it, brought up in that environment. being certain on those accounts should be normal i think @nehab

Sir, why are you so confused about reality and fiction. A story is a story and it take turns based on will and intellect of a person. Mingling a story with reality is not a right approach.Principles of Life are based on individuals Philosophy and awareness towards society.
Reaching to a conclusion midway is never right and can never be admired.

@kay-khosa The major point here is only to be open minded, a story always has different scenes and aspects before it reaches to a conclusion, and secondly it's just a story mate... :) PEACE...

Sir , words are out of control and so is the soul. Who can destroy soul? Have patience and let me conclude the story. :)

Sir, i do not have any religion or society but yes all religion and societies are my life.

mine too :)

:)

Islam zindabad.

Very beautifully written, @honeychum ... Seeing the events unfolding through the eyes of a small and innocent child, accurately draws a true sketch of the way things happen in the world of terrorism. Terrorism uses people's vulnerability, innocence, poverty and greed to empower itself. You have expressed it with great tact and sensitivity. And everything revolves around money. The innocent are fooled into believing there is a "cause" ... Very well - written, @honeychum :)

hmm...

In general, some scholars define jihad as "all forms of utmost effort for the application of Islam and the eradication of tyranny and evil, both to oneself and to society." There is also the interpretation of jihad as "struggling with all the sacrifices of wealth and soul in order to uphold God's sentence (Islam) or defending the interests of religion and Muslims. "The words of jihad in the Qur'an mostly contain a general sense. That is, the notion is not limited to warfare, combat, and military expeditions, but includes all forms of maximum activity and effort in the framework of Islamic da'wah, amar makruf nahyi munkar (ruling virtue and preventing munkar). In this general sense, jihad must continue in both a state of war and peace, since the establishment of Islam depends on jihad.

Lets all be patient and let honeychum finish her story first. i am sure you will do justice with the words " jihad" and " nirvana" @honeychum.
All the very best, i am really looking forward to the conculsion.
