RE: JIHAD | A Journey Towards Nirvana | Episode 4

In general, some scholars define jihad as "all forms of utmost effort for the application of Islam and the eradication of tyranny and evil, both to oneself and to society." There is also the interpretation of jihad as "struggling with all the sacrifices of wealth and soul in order to uphold God's sentence (Islam) or defending the interests of religion and Muslims. "The words of jihad in the Qur'an mostly contain a general sense. That is, the notion is not limited to warfare, combat, and military expeditions, but includes all forms of maximum activity and effort in the framework of Islamic da'wah, amar makruf nahyi munkar (ruling virtue and preventing munkar). In this general sense, jihad must continue in both a state of war and peace, since the establishment of Islam depends on jihad.
