[Introduction of Korean food. #40] Budae jjigae
Hello?? I am @seunglimdaddy who lives in Korea.
This is the 40th introduction to Korean food, and I will introduce Budae jjigae today.
Budae jjigae is a food made in the 1950s. At that time, there was Korean War in Korea. Many facilities were destroyed and people could not farm.
So, there was no food to eat. The food with Korean kimchi, hot pepper paste, and US military ham and cheese became Budae jjigae.

There are many military facilities in Uijeongbu in Korea. Probably Budae jjigae is made in it, Budae jjigae in front of a lot of the word Uijeongbu is attached.
So, Budae jjigae is a food that harmonizes Korean taste and Western taste.
In recent years, you can add more vegetables and ingredients in addition to kimchi, hot pepper paste, ham, and cheese.
If you have not tried Budae jjigae yet, I recommend you try it when you come to Korea.
Next time I will introduce another Korean food.
Thank you for reading. Have a nice day!!
Looks very delicious!
Thank you :)
