A fitness-filled day. I pulled the trifecta!

in #lifestyle4 months ago

I mean this partially as a joke and also to point out that I am so addicted to my Garmin watch that I will record almost any activity that I do on there as some sort of exercise even though it was merely me walking to a shop and back for one of them. However, the rest of the day I did manage to do quite a bit on the weights as well as go cycling so I think my Garmin would agree that I did "enough" for the day.

The first thing is simply me walking to a shop that I needed something from and back. I have a hard time believing that a walk that is under 1km actually does burn that many calories. I am going to have to look into this because I might be compensating for this on the other side of things (food) in an incorrect fashion because of "enlightened" results my watch is feeding me.

The strength training over the course of an hour seems a bit more reasonable because although there is a lot of resting going on here, I am working quite hard when I am not taking a rest between sets. I didn't bother to post the exercises that I did because we can only ask so much of our technology and it doesn't seem to know how to process shoulder raises as well as any sort of forearm work that I do. To this day my watch thinks that me typing on my computer is actually me using an elliptical machine though.

Lastly we have the cycling aspect of my day, which is the only thing that I do that I consider to be taxing exercise. I normally feel like I am doing just fine on the bike but then when I stop I realize that my legs have been getting one hell of a workout and are actually getting quite tight because of it. I am now focusing on stretching more frequently because I noticed the other day when I tried to stretch out my thighs that I couldn't even hook my ankle behind my back to do so. That is a cause for concern because that has never been the case at any other point in my life.

I suppose as you get older that stretching becomes more and more important. If these calorie outputs can be at all trusted I managed one hell of a caloric deficit on that day because I actually ate rather sensibly as well. I didn't have any pizza, beer, or burgers!

That was my Monday... How did you do?
