Self Confidence
Luckily, my gut response is to approach life first with humor and love. I’m not afraid to laugh at myself or a situation. Back story on why this is on my mind... I volunteered to work some overtime today. Why not? I had a day so bad it was comical. The cherry on top (which ironically was how I ended my day) was someone telling me I should quit my job or be fired because I’m such an incompetent horrible human being. Well, he didn’t get the reaction he wanted. I have too much self confidence to take it personally. I was confused and shocked. It was a moment of: “Is this really happening??” In retrospect, I’m glad it happened to me and not to someone else because I’m fine. I’m amused. I almost feel sorry for the dude. Who wants to go out in life with an attitude like that? Not me 😊.
I had an early schoolteacher who gave advice on similar things that has always stuck with me.
She said "Consider the source." Is that source valid? Is that source respectable? Is that source knowledgeable? If not, then disregard their comments as useless information the same as you would useless packaging. Instead, seek out those who provide good counsel on a regular basis and ask them for advice and guidance. Don't eat from bad apples, instead seek out the good.
