After conducting vast amount of research which is released almost every week, on the many benefits of meditating, from general awareness, reduced anxiety, increased positivity and long yearned happiness, research has now revealed there are exciting times ahead for those that practice. Even though the perks I have mentioned are significantly and overwhelmingly influential in our decision to start practicing meditation, this one reason will now give you no reason to delay. The potential ability to extend our lifespan further after old age is no longer a far cry, research has also suggested that long term meditation can help preserve the grey matter within the brain.

The general lifespan has increased vastly over the years however due to the brain depreciating in age after just our early 20's this would be a significant find to prevent illness at old age therefore essentially prolonging life.

Meditation has great affects on the body not just on a psychological level but also physically, it all starts within the body and inside our cells, meditation helps by prolonging longevity of specific cells and enzymes within the body, more well known as Telomere.

Telomere is something within the body which allows cells to multiply and refresh, reduced Telomere can be directly correlated to increased level of stress, anxiety and worry. Research has found the if Telomere could maintain its length for long periods of time, then more cells can continue dividing.

Meditation has been scientifically proven to remove anxiety, stress and general worry, if performed consistently it could take all your problems away, and in return giving you a life of positive thinking and happiness, in doing so naturally you will improve the physical benefits of the brain ensuring you a longer and happier life than many.

Great topic! I often practice different forms of meditation and came across a practice called Transcendental Meditation. Anyone heard about this? See youtube video with Katy Perry's interview on TM. I found this to be one of the most effective techniques. Let me know what you think!

Again, I need to find some time to meditate!

Do you meditate every day?

@diabolika I used to meditate daily but to keep consistent I do one day on and one day off! But if i can fit it in and have a nice secluded place of my own then yes as much as possible.

Look try it, but start of with 3 minutes and increase the time weekly, after a while you will enjoy it so much you'll find time. Infact the meditation would assist you in making time.

I know, it will help me get some better sleep as I have a lot of thoughts in my head.

@diabolika your young I'm sure there's not much to think about :) I read your posts your free! :)

Thank you for reading my posts @jawaida

i just had cell biology and we were talking about dna replication.. i really think this is a game changer knowing that telomeres are sustained for longer by meditation.
great to know! thanks :)
