Hill Climbing Algorithm of perception
After we born we start to develop our picture of the world through experiencing. We read the surrounding signals through our body, with wide range of sensors. That means enormous amount of data flooding to us that needs to be processed by the brain to build up every moment of reality.
The brain is constantly searching for patterns and reference points to gather meaningful information from raw data.
The brain loves causality.
In this process the recurring patterns are sticks together and forms filters which can help ignore irrelevant data and set the focus to the essence.
Like the algorithms that filter out noise from incoming data in the large Large Hadron Collider.
This way the computer needs far less processing power to the same job, and have capacity to do more.
These filters can form chains and build up much more complex structures.
Stalagmite is a type of rock formation that rises from the floor of a cave due to the accumulation of material deposited on the floor from ceiling drippings.
Same way our sensors washing the world to the cave and its pouring into the lake.
Our imaginary stalagmite filters formed by every drop of information.
(pouring cold water on ice)
In this example , the gravitation is the causality.
Every new data can alter our recognition bit by bit.
Experiencing build more stable foundation than just believing, but both are critical component when we build our perception stalagmites.
Imagination helps us predict the near future,to deal with unknown happening.
We can always imagine many possible outcomes, but we have to test it , experiencing it to build solid foundations.
When we make false conclusions again and again, that's also can build strong towers of stalagmite but in sideways. It can reach the point naturally, when the blending structure can't support itself. Especially when a bigger drop of reality hits.these pieces falls down, leaving the part where causality was hard enough.
This is the moment when we see that things can be otherwise, than we thought before.Life changing events can make us reappraise our perception. Big earthquakes may broke every stalagmite to the ground.
Consciousness gives us the ability to check on our stalagmites.
To see things in new way without a push, can be very hard, but it can be done. This is what people call (Think outside the box)
You can compare this to Hill climbing algorithm (video)
With meditation we can reach that state where we can rebuild unstable parts of our stalagmites.
Thanks for reading.
that's good to know thanks a lot for sharing and keep on posting ;)
