Mindful Monday - Some Reasons Why You May Want To Live More in the Now...

in #mindfulmonday5 years ago

Being it is your life, I would hope you would want to live it to the fullest. Live each moment of every day!

That would be marvelous, but not always so easy to do. So with that goal in mind, I came up with 7 reasons to live more in the now to hopefully motivate you towards that ends!

4_The_Mindful_Way_To_Deal_With_Frustrations_Image1.jpg

Reason #1: It can bring more joy and a fuller life.

When you live in the now, your focus is on what you have, not what you lost, what was, or what will be. You won’t waste your precious hours dwelling on things that have past or things that have yet to come into being.
You’ll simply be open to life as it’s happening to you. When you do this, you’ll find that your joy in life is magnified and you’re more likely to live life to the fullest.

Reason #2: You may have more energy for less mental energy is wasted.

Instead of having your thoughts jumping around, full of “what if…” or “if only I had…” guide your thoughts to living in the now, and you're less likely to be wasting energy dwelling on things that don’t matter.

Reason #3: Living in the now leads to less chaos and a more peaceful life.

Being in the present brings less fears and anxiety and more a sense of peace and well-being. This comes about because of understanding that while living in the moment, what is going on is current but doesn’t mean it’s always going to be that way. If you understand that chaos is transient, it gives it less power to steal your peace of mind.

Reason #4: With practice of living in the now, you will become stronger.

It gives you a chance to become more aware of your strength and wisdoms plus you will become more prepared to deal with each thing as it arises.

Reason #5: It opens door to being more grateful and to take things in stride

You’ll take things moment by moment. Your reactions will be formed out of living in what is. If you focus on what you have with a positive, thankful attitude when something goes wrong, you’ll more likely be able to take it in stride.

Reason #6: Helps to alleviate stress and can add years to your life.

When you stop trying to orchestrate what happens to you or what unfolds in your life, you’ll realize that the now is what you have before you. No need to be always planning and trying to perfect things. Stress tends to crops up when you don’t focus on the moment. So living more in the now will take you away from letting stress ruin your life. Being aware of the current moment keeps you from stressing on the moments that haven’t even happened. If you can stop the negatives and things you can’t control from becoming a roadblock, you'll be able to move forward, allowing for changes. So if your mind starts stressing out about the future or worrying about the past gently bring your thoughts back to the present.

Reason #7 Living in the now can bring balance to your life.

You may discover that you are more often finding that what your life is, is as it should be, that your present moment is exactly where you’re supposed to be.

When things are in balance, often you find that what’s important to you will start becoming center stage and you miss less opportunities that life gives you.

Here's hoping you find much peace and joy in your life and you live it to it's fullest!

I find myself more on the "living in the now" side...partly because I'm just lazy to think about what is going to happen or what had happened. Not sure if this is good or bad...but the benefits you mentioned makes it convincing that sometimes being lazy in a way like this might be acceptable, lol.

But yes, look at the now...there's no crying over what's over :)

Hey I think it might just be a time when being lazy is paying off and it does seem like you have a pretty good attitude, mostly!

This might just be what i need to do right now, get lazy☺ Cheers!

I'm lucky, as living in the moment is my natural existence. I don't know if that's because I was born that way, or if events of life have made me that way. I recover very quickly from stress because of it, and I feel blessed that I can live this way.

You are blessed and I'm sure it makes for a more peaceful existence!

All great reasons to live more in the "now"... however, like all things, finding the balance between in the now and the not now is probably the critical thing! Although, definitely... in most first world nations, the now part is often the bit that is completely out balance and neglected!

Thank you for reasons! Stay in moment - it's hard to do... we all want to live in future))
