New to Steemit and Trying to Stick Out in the Crowd? Check out the Steemit Newbie Resteem Initiative

Are You a Steemit Newbie??

If you signed up within the last month (or two) and have a Rep of (40) or less then guess what? You are! And you are just who we’re looking for to highlight and resteem!

source is this awesome artist from pixabay.com

Don’t get discouraged if you’re not raking in the dough within your first month - or first couple of months even. Steemit is a long term investment not a get rich quick scheme.

Stick with it and Just Keep Steemin' !!

Steemit is a unique social media platform - Quality over Quantity is a major building block. Most of us are not here so we can make it rain at the club. Most of us value our Steem Power and leave our STEEM within the platform - creating more for everyone. We are here for the long run and love what the blockchain stands for: decentralized information, autonomy, transparency, among others. Believe it or not, we are building the future here and we want to bring value back to the individual and give fair pay for hard work.

As in real life, Networking and Relationships will make or break you - really reading the posts and creating real conversations in the comments sections will earn STEEM/SBD much more consistently than spamming out 25 posts of one liners.

While we’re on the topic of post content, let’s go over a few tips I’ve seen recycled all over the platform:

Source your images/videos/content!

If it’s your own creation let us praise you for it - but - if you’re borrowing someone else’s hard work you really need their permission and need to give them credit! This is not some trivial rule - it is common sense and respect. (something the world needs more of which we all work hard to provide here at Steemit)

Never outright ask for Upvotes and/or Follows.

It is simply poor etiquette and comes off as laziness, in my opinion. Ask for advice, sure! Ask to be friends, why not! If you strike up an honest conversation you’re more likely to get that person over to your blog and upvoting your content. We reward hard work, compassion and honesty here!

If you’re just typing out Great Post! or Nice! or any other one liners and clicking that Post button - STOP!

Stop it right now. That Steemian slaved over that post! Their getting carpal-tunnel so you have something to read! Most of us spend a decent amount of time crafting our posts so please don’t fluff your comment - you’re telling that person “I did NOT read this.” Comments are crucial people! Take the extra 30 seconds and type out something with some heart behind it.

Take some TIME to form and create your posts.

Yeah, we all know - you’re busy. I’m busy too. There just aren’t enough hours in the day however if you etch out at least 20 minutes of your busy ass day to sit down and design your post I guarantee you’ll see more upvotes. Everyone can tell you rushed your post dear. Maybe you only want to touch on a subject or bring up a quick talking point - that’s fine! Do that with some class and respect for your readers!

With ALL that outta the way I want to drop a few helpful links for all you Newbies.

These are all geared towards new users and contain a plethora of useful information. I urge you to read these posts and if you choose, follow the authors, they are all wonderfully helpful people.

Now, when my cat has pinned me to the chair, I find my lists. May I recommend newbies look at @arcange and @bodzilla on health, @suesa on education-science and @splendorhub for beauty, @ravenruis for ancestry and historical, @sykochica for real lists, and @johnvibes and @coolguy123 and for you who think you're in winter, check @lilygolightly and for travel @steemworldmap and then @vaansteam and @freedompoint and when you get to @simon62 I'd appreciate a comment, and a vote more.
Thank-you.

oh damn! thank you!! looks like I need another cup of coffee hahaha best time though, I am on vacation right now so technically I have way more extra time right now lol I'm making it my mission to check out each one of these blogs by the end of the day! (have to get a few hours on my novel but other than that I have the entire day lol )

Sorry if there is a lot of cats. When young I worked with dogs, but in a pensioner flat, a cat is plenty and doesn't require miles and miles of running every day. There is a user @catwoman too I seem to remember. Now I'm making more work for me. Ah well. Keep on keeping on 😇

lol I'll check her out as well - I liked every blog you referred me to, so thank you! all awesome Steemians - followed them all :)

May the blessings be 😑

I like the reminders to read. Time is taken to post, and is wasted if the readers are just skimming. I'm a new jack, and have resteemed perhaps three posts so far, because they 'spoke' to me.
May I ask you to perhaps visit sometime and see a view of 100 years ago. Also I recommend @spiritualmatters for thoughtfulness, @hanen for some travel blogs I much enjoyed, @appiepearl and @abh12345 and in fact any in my replies box (except the two copy paste blokes who have yet to post anything). I shall be returning to view more of yours, but time is the non-sport, restricting my seeing enough of even those I now follow.
Keep on keeping on. 😇

thanks @simon62 ! I generally only resteem things that resonate with me, things I can tell someone put a ton of effort into, or those posts I with helpful links or instructions that I wanna find easily later.
With this new initiative I started resteeming a bit more than I used to but if us minnows stick together and help each other out then we're building each other wallets at the same time!
Thank you for adding in some Steemians for me to check out! I'll be visiting all of them - and yours too of course!
Time is definitely a restricting force for me too - there are so many cool people on here I don't want to miss a thing but that's near impossible lol :)
Keep Steemin'!!

Your post ia great because it is fostering meaningful platform development through encouraging new adoption.

Your effort here represents everything I love about Steemit: the community loves this platform and wants to see it grow.

It is not like Youtube or Facebook where people just speak into the void, and hope to get meaningless, valueless "likes". Steemit is at its core a place where ideas can be shared and meaningful open dialogue is fostered.

Love it. Love this post.

Thank you for everyone who works to add value on Steemit. We appreciate you.

Upvoted and resteemed.

thank you so much! @infidel1258 I'm so happy to be a part of Steemit and I want everyone to see how beneficial it really is. I've noticed a surge of spammy content and poorly written, rushed posts - I don't know if it's new people misunderstanding the platform or scammers just trying to make some quick cryptos.
I hope this post may help some newbies create more connected and conscious content because at the end of the day I wanna enjoy what I'm reading on here and meet new awesome people! We wanna promote the good eggs out there and hope they keep pumping out the quality ! :)

Thank you for your interesting and insightful post. As a newbie, it was really helpful and i'm defiantly going to take on board all of the suggestions you made.

This post that I would like to submit is my first real blog post. The post is about how and why I started a second online career in order to fund my crypto investments.

"How Teaching English Online Provides My $1000 P/M Crypto Investment!"
https://steemit.com/crypto/@stansolo/how-teaching-english-online-provides-my-usd1000-p-m-crypto-investment

I don't expect you to read the entire article but if you have the time to skim through it, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

I hear you @stansolo
I began on steemit because the kids nagged me to write it down. I've been a hobby librarian all my trucking career and have info on all sorts. If you teach English, please note in my blog many posts of 'grammar' as taught to me by clips about the ear from the old WW1 vets when I was a child. They are not classroom talking head lectures, but printable lists of Hints ***
Enjoy.

Great! I'll definitely have a look at your posts over the next few days. Welcome to the community!

May the blessings be 😑

Hey @stansolo thanks so much for reading my post! I'm glad it's helped you out :) I will certainly read your post (I will actually read it lol) certainly I'll drop some feedback in your comments sections and I'd be happy to make you part of my #newbieresteeday on Monday -as long as it hasn't hit it's 7 day shelf life- I want you to be able to collect STEEM/SBD on it of course. If it has paid out already I'd certainly accept another newer blog to resteem - Keep Steemin'!!

Thank you! I think it'll only be 4-5 days old on Monday. I'll keep posting though and hope to become more involved with this great community in the future. Thanks again!

Wonderful post! Thank you so much for your support. I have written a general update on the initiative that covers our progress off of Steemit and gives some detail in regards to the road ahead. The community response to our efforts has been amazing and it's kind folks like yourself that help to make it all possible. On behalf of myself and @davemccoy you have our most humble and sincere thanks.

Thank you! I'll be sure to check out the update post :) when I see a good cause I gotta jump in! The only way we all win is to do it together - and with the growing number of spammy accounts I've been noticing recently I feel like if we want to preserve the quality here we need to cultivate it! You guys do great work and I'm proud and honored to be a part of it

nice post, i like it, can you also check my post if you like to join thumb up post

thank you :) checking out your blog now

Thanks for this post, as a noob posts like this are super helpful. I have to say that pretty much every comment I have made on peoples posts have had some reply. When you look at the negativity on the likes of FB or twitter etc Steemit seems to be an oasis of sound (sound is a local-ism for good people).

I love to produce as much quality content as possible, some of my posts are just a quickie so to speak but some span multiple posts because the information that I am providing is technical or would be lost if it was all put in one post.

Had a quick browse of your profile too, I really enjoyed your Woke AF hiphop playlist. I was actually thinking of doing something similar but I wont go into the detail of it now.

I have to say you are correct in what Steemit is. Its more than just a social network, hell I've posted hundreds of recipes, photos and heartfelt original content that has taken me days of research to get all the correct verified information. What have I ever received for it? -€.

Hosting a website and the time spent on other platforms has ended up at a negative for me anyway. I am a strong believer in the technology behind Steemit and the blockchain in general so why wouldn't I be on a blockchain platform?

Ok so I am rambling now. You have a new follower and I am looking forward to seeing more from you.

Almost for got to pop in a link.... well I actually did and then remembered. Have a read of this if you like, I am hoping to be able to help people where I can. https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@moonunit/a-dummies-guide-on-passive-v-s-active-income-the-path-to-freedom

If you want to get a feel for me and the research I put into posts have a read of this one...
https://steemit.com/animals/@moonunit/look-into-my-eyes-deep-into-my-eyes

Ok I wont take up any more of your time. Have a Great day and keep on Steemin!

@moonunit thank you for writing such an awesome comment as well as checking out my blog! I need to do another edition of hiphop playlists soon - I really like doing the research for those! I'd be interested in checking out your version too. The hiphop/rap world is upside down and getting the real knowledge out there is seriously needed. But I could rant on for days about the corruption of the rap world..
anyways back to the matter at hand, I will totally check out the links you dropped and thanks for the follow! I'll be sure to follow you back too.

I couldn't agree more, I think once it becomes a business greed takes over and the real artist is left behind. I have a real soft spot for good gangsta rap, east, west, Wherever.

I really must do up that post or at least ad it to my backlog. I have too many projects on the go!!

Looking forward to your next one.

very very good @amariespeaks ... definitely worth a resteem :)

You have been resteemed as part of #newbieresteemday ... I made today my #newbieresteemday, and invite you and others to do the same. To learn more: Come Join Us!!! (Newbie Resteem Initiative)

thank you @ilovepoorpeople !! so much appreciation for all the awesome work you do on here!

Wow! Super useful, @amariespeaks BIG gratitude for this and your support of newbies like myself. Wish I had had this info 2 weeks ago when I first began my steeming journey.

I recently resteemed a beautifully written post on Perserverance which also helped me...it's a concept often overlooked in these fast moving 'get rich quick' times and cultivating an attitude towards the long term, adding in a little bit of determination and discipline, will slowly build the blocks (chain) towards growth and we ALL want that!

Quality trumps quantity every single time!
Following you, resteemed this post, and sweeping bow of thanks to you ⭐️

@lilygolightly thank you so much this wonderful comment! :) and thanks for the follow and resteem ! I really appreciate it. I'm heading over to check your blog out now

That's really kind of you @amariespeaks, thank you!

I am a kinda mixed bag blogger gal for sure but my little niche is in the consciousness field with a dash of geek so I hope do you find something to enjoy.

In peace, Lily ⭐️
