It's shouldn't be a surprise that the governments of the world are only going to let the crypto space thrive if they are able to track/monitor, guide/control, and tax every single action/transaction that takes place on the blockchain. If they are able to do this they will let the crypto space loose and move towards mass adoption, while if they are unable to do this they will continue to crack down and demonize cryptos as a whole. I don't approve of their mindset, but I am also not very surprised by it either as you can't teach an old dog new tricks, and government is the oldest dog of them all.
