RE: OpenMic Judges are not the Final! All in All say to your talent.

in #openmic7 years ago (edited)

Once many years ago I took my dad,( who had told me not to pursue music because I wasn't good enough), into the studio to listen to my new album on studio monitors. He was stunned! I said to him,"dad this is the difference between $20 equipment and $20,000 equipment." to date, I have licensed 3 songs from that album!...and still working on more. It doesn't even matter if we are good enough, our inner being wants to cry out, to relate, to connect. It is a part of our human condition and turns out often to be the part we and others enjoy the most. Keep it up Bonnie!

thank you so much @revdocwelch for sharing your story here in the comments. That inspired me greatly to hear, and to know someone was listening to what I was saying. I greatly appreciate your passion my friend and the fact that you didnt give up when someone told you that you couldnt and here you are today making wonderful music for others to enjoy. bless you

I am grateful for this venue that allows me to work from home yet have a potential of many listeners. Playing for a live audience is also very gratifying, especially if they respond! Just glad to be on this side of the ground with guitar in hand! I did write a song called "I want to play Steel Guitar In Heaven In The Band." Definitely couln't manage it on this side!

good for you to keep going! if we listen to the naysayers, thats how dreams are deterred and and masterpieces are squandered before they even had the chance to begin.
