Closing out the world
In the current digital age, we are often distracted by various things. Our mobile devices, work, parents, environment. So, with all of these variables trying to get out attention, where is the time for us? How do we reflect upon life? How do we know if our thoughts come from within, rather than from a market that is trying to influence us.
Here is one way to get started:
Find a seat, any seat. Now, you should isolate yourself. No calls, no distractions. Just you and the destination of where to sit. For 5 minutes.
And close your eyes and relax. Listen to what is going on around you. Pay attention to your thoughts, where they are trailing to. Where they are trailing from. How are you feeling? Are you tired from work? Anxious? Why?
Are you trailing towards the future? How come? What makes you think towards that direction?
The most important thing is to not be overwhelmed if thinking a certain way is right or wrong. There is no “correct” way. You just think and experience. Allow your body to communicate with you and to further evaluate if need be.
This exercise will help build a foundation for how to shield yourself and listen from within.
Then, afterward, be grateful for the experience and be thankful for your current situation. We are lucky to be born and have circumstances occur the way they did to get us to this point. Now, it will be one of our tasks to continue a positive and fruitful lifestyle.
