Slovanka lookout sunset view - Jizera Mountains Czech - EN/CZ

When I studied in Liberec I have always wandered in Jizera Mountains whenever I was free. Slovanka lookout is one of the oldest cast iron lookouts in Czech republic. It was bulit in 1887 by one worker with help of two others. Cast iron parts were premade and then transported on the top of the hill. In 20th century the lookout was significantly damaged and almost destroyed on purpose, but it held there until 1999 where it was declared a region memory and totally reconstructed. Its the highest point in the area with great view on the Jizera mountains so I did not hesitate to take some photos during sunset.

Když jsem studoval v Liberci často jsem utíkal do Jizerských hor. Rozhledna Slovanka je jedna z nejstarších litinových rozhleden v České republice. Byla postavena v roce 1887 jedním dělníkem s několika pomocníky. Litinové díly byli předvyrobeny v továrně a poté dopraveny na vrchol kopce. Ve 20. století byla rozhledna značně poškozena a skoro zničena kvůli bezpečnosti, ale vydržela tam až do roku 1999, kdy byla prohlášena jako regionální památka a celá zrekonstruována. Je to nejvyšší bod v okolí s krásným výhledem na Jizerské hory a tak jsem neváhal a udělal několik fotek během západu slunce.

Wow, very beautiful stunning shots! First two photos look like a painting, they even reminded me of a movie called "What Dreams May Come" about a man who died and then lived in his paintings. If you haven't seen it I think you should :D
