My experience driving the TESLA P model is stupidly fast, classy, lovely and slightly spooky.

I decided to drive a Tesla, just to try out the experience and its acceleration. The car I tried is the P90 model. This is how it went.

Comfort, Refinement and usability:

The car had a fairly smooth ride, nothing very harsh. It was certainly not a Mercedes S Class. Neither is the interior quality But it was comfortable. One of the reasons it feels comfortable is its quiet, like a luxury comfortable car should be. Another reason is that it is very easy to use. There are no gear changing required because it has one forward speed.

The simplicity continues to the interior. The P model has lots of space unlike many german rivals, most of which have a massive dash that makes you feel surrounded in all the luxury, but takes up space.

The leather is artificial but it is better than the real thing. Much better. It is almost impossible to stain it with drinks and things like that as you can easily wipe it off easy. You can get it in White leather. I guess that would make the car more Luxurious.

The Tesla is very usable. It has a big boot and as long as you can charge it, then it is fine.

Design

It is definitely classy, and from outside it looks like an expensive product. The interior does not feel the same to the touch as the german rivals or a Lexus. I would say even Volvo's feel to have more premium feeling materials inside. However it still feels very good. The design is very simplistic which suits its character.

Gadget and infotainment:

I didn't get much time to experience this, but I did experience it's autopilot system in a dual carriageway. It was incredible. You indicate to change lanes which feels so nice to see. Tesla's gadgets are mainly controlled by the massive screen which is very good and easy to use. It is fast, not laggy, clear and its like you are using your phone/tablet. It has everything you realistically want in there.

Driving experience and performance

This car is stupidly fast off the line. No Wheelspin, no drama, no lag, just pure linear acceleration. Almost nothing accelerates like that off the line. Nothing. This might be the party piece of the vehicle. The handling is good on the road but definitely not for the race track. The brakes are sharp. It starts to brake a bit even when the brakes are not touched due to braking regeneration. This was weird at first, but almost felt like a video game. The fact that this car is so quiet and is this quick is impressive, but also a bit spooky.

Maybe one day I will be able to afford some nice cars and nice houses. I would want to do that one day. But it will definitely take effort to get there.
