/I only think of her in winter/ [ORIGINAL POEM by @mindhunter]

in #poetry8 years ago

dry my tears from spring /

interested in the dark of december /

never feeling too warm /

taking search for dry wood to bind /

everyone is joyful /

resting for the [12] days of Christmas to come /

I only think of her in winter

Now we have images fused to lyrics! Ha ha!

The fact that words strain, crack, and break might serve as the grounds for criticism: look at how this poem fails to reach perfection!

Correct. Great feedback. When I experience a poem’s radical failure, I must be measuring it against some other ideal.

A less bad poet would not make the distance between the virtual and the actual so palpable or so immediate, so there is hope.

We should share a few pints at the 'Steemit Festival of Poetry'!

You'll make a decent poet one day friend.

Thank you my poetic guru!

Simple is best for a poetic warm-up!

Warming us up for winter? Great work!

Sure am. Great work? Mmmmmm....3/10 on my own scale - a wee Winter poetic warm up there - this took me just 5 minutes to write.

(I'm surprised it's got so many up-votes to be honest!)
