You might even have to pay extra to visit sites beyond a basic package which includes Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, CNN etc. So you will be charged a premium to visit websites that are not in cahoots with big business and governmental interests.

Basically, we would be North Korea.

Exactly. Net neutrality ensure that all content providers are treaded equal by the underlying infrastructure.

How would the population respond if the private companies could pay have a lane one the freeway just for themselves, and potentially also block some trucks on the other lane?
