Smartsteem Update 18th September '19
Greetings Steemians,
are you wondering what we've been doing over the last week? If yes, here's a quick post filling you in.
Relaunch Smartsteem
We're making great progress towards the relaunch. Our first version will be an MVP, which will also include the first use-cases of SmartPoints. Estimated time of arrival is approximately 2-3 weeks.
Curation
We've been continually curating manually for the past week.
This hasn't been easy due to the lack of original Steem-related content, which is why we've curated other categories as well.
Now, we're not planning to curate only 100% Steem-specific contributions, however, it is something we're highly interested in. Especially, development projects and contributions.
Behind The Scenes
We would also like to give you a small glimpse into our curation process:
Besides using the amazing tool made by @curie; https://steemlookup.com, we've also developed our own little software suite.
One part of it is scanning the blockchain for undiscovered content, that our curators are then receiving for review.
Another part are transfers of SBD & STEEM to @null, which our curators review as well.
And last but not least, we're following already curated authors, whose newly-created posts are then being submitted to our curators. This process, allows us to achieve a curation curve, which can even triumph automatic voters. So if you've been wondering how we're able to vote so ealy, that's the reason.
Most importantly, outgoing votes for curation are always checked by a curator. So we're not simply following successfully authors without reviewing their content.
Closing Words
We want to thank our delegators, especially those who have stuck with us since our change to curation. We know that believing in SmartPoints is a leap of faith, but we're doing our best to share with you our vision ASAP with the MVP.
Sincerely,
Team Smartsteem
I can attest to the good job which the curation team is doing, especially for Steem-related contents. There will be criticism here and there but that doesn't change the great job you guys are doing.
I will be looking forward to those smart points. Please do well to share an update once it is ready. Cheers!
This post has been included in the latest edition of The Steem News - a compilation of the key news stories on the Steem blockchain.
Thanks for supporting my Steem development posts, and my other Steem related content.
I'm not so sure about the Smartpoints, but the profitability from smartsteem is way down to 8.11%.
https://www.steemprofit.info/
Exactly, because we're not a bid-bot (promotion-service) anymore.
Neither is tipu, so I don't see the exactly reason for the decline on the profit.
On another note:
Is there any reason for the downvote?
Tipu is a bid-bot or at least a promotion service. Same business model as us ( It actually doesn't matter how the payment is being processed - bidding, direct payment with fixed-rate, etc. ), before we focused on curation.
Automatic vote on your comment. We wouldn't have downvoted a manually curated vote.
Nope, still, tipu is not a bid-bot, there are no auctions or any bids made. It could be a promotion service, but I don't know what the definition of that is. But I think that the processing is one huge factor of naming things and that there is quite the difference between tipu and bid-bots. (Same with bid-bots and smartsteem, because I wouldn't call smartsteem a bid-bot pre-HF21.)
Huh, what? That vote came from @steembasicincome, all of their votes are automatically distributed. Do you really want to flag all of their upvotes? Comments are only upvoted if you haven't posted for the last 7 days, which I wasn't able to. So I received one small upvote for one comment, which I think is totally normal and the amount wasn't that high. To receive a flag just because, the upvote was automated is kinda a really hard criteria. I mean I get if someone is upvoting himself 10 days per day, or is getting 50$ on the comment "Haha", but that one upvote?
Do I get an answer for my reply or is my waiting for that futile?
@takowi You can wait an infinite amount of time. I noticed more often when conversations and or questions go though though, Smartsteem goes silent. And if they even react back, its in a short and often annoyed way.
Experienced it myself also when i criticized the new system they are using. As i find it a stab in the back to all delegators that helped SS get to the point they are now. Seems they just want us to obey and not criticize at all or they are stepped on their toes.
Think they should switch the person that does the PR. You kind of need to be able to take criticism without getting quickly offended, otherwise he or she should not be on any kind of social media in the first place.
Thank you for your reply. At least I don't feel alone anymore.
Jeah I don't get them. Not even remotely. It happened once before where I questioned, why the estimator for the vote selling system estimated an amount in Steem less what was paid. But with still showing a positive ROI. That didn't make any sense.
But the reaction was the same, annoyed, then silence.
Jeah, I realized that also, but later. The delegators delgated back then because the ROI was something above 10%, with those changes now, I wished those delegations were bound to something like a smart contract to end the delegation automatically.
Jeah, that would be great. My intention wasn't to offend anyone. Fun part: They upvoted one of my posts later on. I didn't know why or how, but they did. That's really confusing.
I guess I will just sit here and watch what will happen to Smartsteem.
@smartsteem,
I have gain your upvote on few of my posts since last weeks! Really appreciate that and I have seen you are manually curating contents!
We (Team Trendo) has been created a bot program which can summon through a comment with the amount of vote percentage! It's at a private github, coz we won't make it public, people might use it for the purpose of spamming quality contents with their sh!tty messages!
But if you are interested we can provide you that service.
Following features are add up with the bot script:
#1. Authorized Tags
#2. Downvotes
#3. Authorized Users to summon bot
#4. Limits of votes per day
#5. Post age checker
#6. We are working on limits of flags per day and control of vote power 80% per day
Honestly this tag is not added to the authorized list. So when I summon bot here, you might see the outcome!

I fuck you man
Which tag you guys are following most for curation now??
So automated curation at 3,4 minutes is now called manual curation. I was not aware of that.
Since you are not sharing any of the curation rewards with your delegators which is currently the real asset and you are expecting others to fall for SmartPoints now which are not even listed on Steem-Engine, just imaginary numbers.
I am not being totally critique of your methods but atleast you should consider listing them somewhere for more credibility instead of blind faith only.
We do manually curate at 3-4 minutes in some cases. But we're not using automation for broadcasting votes. This is all being done manually, as well as the comments. Comments will most likely be automated over time, however, the votes have always been reviewed and done manually.
We've stated multiple times what our plans for SmartPoints are and whether you believe in them or not, is your decision. And there are also reasons why we haven't listed them on SteemEngine, especially as it wouldn't change anything considering that the uses-cases are just following. We appreciate the questions.

I don't see anything extraordinary, just regular manual curation
