My Lucid Dreaming Journey Day 43 - Birthdays And a Weird Pizza...
Annoying Dog
Yesterday before going to sleep, I decided to meditate in complete darkness and not look at any screens after. I enjoy meditating with some light, since I start feeling all sorts of energies around me when I'm doing this.
I don't feel safe when I'm meditating in darkness. Or so I thought. I haven't done it in complete darkness for a while now, so I decided to give it a go.
I did this, because looking at screens before going to sleep makes it harder to actually doze off. I didn't even track the time for how long I was meditating, but it was around 30 minutes or a bit more, I think.
Surprisingly, I was really calm and I didn't have this feeling that something is watching me while I'm meditating in darkness.
I think I'll be doing this every day, because I fell asleep really quickly when I went to bed. I also took Dream Leaf before going to bed.
I had already set my alarm to wake me up in 4 hours of sleep before I started meditating, so I wouldn't have to look at my phone screen.
When I woke up, I felt extremely tired, but I had to take the red capsule. I did have some dreams even with the blue capsule. And what's most surprising, I remembered those dreams even though I continued to sleep and didn't write them down right away.
I was so tired, I even fell asleep while laying on my back. That never happens! I just can't fall asleep on my back no matter what.
Anyway... It didn't last long, since I woke up for some reason and then I didn't feel tired anymore! it was like 5:30 AM and I couldn't fall asleep anymore.
I got really frustrated since I've spent like 3 hours being awake. A big contributor to this was the neighbor's stupid fucking dog that wouldn't stop barking for no reason.
I've spent over an hour listening to this dog, visualizing how I shoot him with a sniper rifle, because he's annoying as fuck.
It's a good think I didn't have that sniper rifle!
Anyway, I managed to fall asleep somehow, but I didn't sleep for long because I had to wake up in like an hour. When my alarm went off, I felt soooo tired...
But, I did some deep breathing exercises and I started to feel a bit better.
I had a really good recall today, but It's probably because of Dream Leaf, since I've been struggling with recall for over a week now.
I didn't become lucid this morning, but I was rather close this time! I believe I was in sleep paralysis, but I didn't use this opportunity.... Why? Because I'm stupid, that's why! But more on that later.
So Many Birthdays!
So, my first dream memory begins when I was at one of my friend's house. It was a birthday party! A girl was celebrating her birthday, but it wasn't her house.
Anyway, I actually created a video for her birthday. It was basically a compilation of her photos and videos. This video was 15 minutes long.
When I started this video, everyone was excited to watch it, but by the end, it got a bit boring and everyone fell asleep. Seriously? It was that boring?
Well, at least I didn't fall asleep! Oh wait... I was already asleep, cuz it's a dream...
Then, I somehow I was at my house now and it was another birthday. Some girl was celebrating her birthday at my place! But it didn't last long...
She decided to leave with some dudes, but her sister wasn't happy. She didn't want her to leave and they were arguing a lot.
That's when I woke up to take the red capsule.
Like I've said, I'm really surprised by how much detail I was able to recall, even though I continued sleeping after taking the capsule without writing all of this down.
Porn Ads
Then, after spending like 3 hours to actually fall asleep again, I started dreaming about trying to fall asleep! Heck this is the worst thing...
I was actually asleep for some time, but I didn't know. I started checking out stuff on my phone and I thought it's reality. Then some sort of porn ad came out of nowhere.
Right after it appeared on my screen, I got extremely tired and my eyes were automatically closing. I fell asleep... AGAIN!
So, it was a dream within a dream. This is where sleep paralysis came in. I think...
As I feel asleep in my dream, I actually maintained my consciousness. Only my body fell asleep. I could've probably used this to induce a lucid dream, since I knew that I'm dreaming at this point.
But nooo, I actually thought that this porn thing was in reality, so I tried waking up, because I didn't want anyone to find me in my bed sleeping while there's porn videos playing on my phone.
So, I tried getting up from my bed, but it's really hard to explain what happens in this state... It's almost as if I actually move, but then I return to my original place.
Like, it felt like I raised my hand, but actually I did not. It's almost as if my spiritual body is moving but not my physical one. That's the best way I could explain this.
I realized this is sleep paralysis, I wasn't scared about this, but then I panicked a little bit, because of the porn thing like I've said, so I tried with all that I got to get up.
I put all my strength and willpower into this. I thought I managed to raise my body, but again... It was only my spiritual body and I was still in the same place.
But somehow I actually managed to wake up after a while, and I immediately realized how dumb I am! How could I believe that this porn thing actually was in reality? It was so obvious that it was a dream, but I couldn't realize it.
I simply blew a perfect chance to induce a lucid dream directly from sleep paralysis. Then I spent like 30 more minutes to fall asleep again...
Gigantic Bedsheet Pizza
When I managed to fall asleep again, I had some more dreams!
First, I was in my room and I had a car. This car was pretty small. In fact, so small that it was able to fit in my room! I decided to take a ride with this car.
I remember calling my cousin to come over, so we could drive together. Since I don't have a drivers license, I asked him to drive me around with my car...
We were driving for a while, until the scenery changed.
I was now in some sort of room that I've never been before. I had a roommate. Apparently we were both living there. We didn't even talk or anything.
There was some negativity in the air! I was doing something on the computer. Until...
I decided to eat something. I don't know how I got it, but now I was holding a gigantic pizza! Which turned into bedsheet later!
What the fuck? It was still a pizza but the form was bedsheet. I literally ate the bedsheet like it was a pizza. I was spinning it around in my hand and it was huge.
I finished more than half of this bedsheet pizza and then my roommate asked if I need any help with that, because it looked like I was already full.
I said yeah! I really needed some help with that. LOL, we were both eating some bedsheet as if it was a pizza... I can't believe how ridiculous this was. And yet, I didn't realize this was a dream...
I woke up shortly after, because the alarm went off. It was time to start my day!
Some Dream Interpretations
I never normally did this before I started this journey, but I think it's going to be fun to check out what my dreams mean, since I'm getting more involved with them.
I don't necessarily believe the interpretations, but it's a great way to get even more immersed into the dream world.
Firstly, I was dreaming about birthdays. What could that possibly mean? Here's what I've found:
Birthday party means interesting news are going to come soon. If the party is in the house of a friend, it is the omen of happiness. To dream that you are at a beautiful birthday party means that you have a happy family life. A boring party means you will be disappointed by your friends. A birthday party is also a sign that you will make money, or that a wish of yours will soon come true. (Source)
Hmm, well I'm not entirely sure if it was boring... I mean, yeah I turned on a video that bored everyone and made them fall asleep, LOL. But other than that, we were having fun until then.
Anyway, even if I would get disappointed by my friends, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm used to that stuff already. What's that next bit? Make money? Yeah, I like that! Let the money flow.
Next, I was eating a pizza in my dream. What could that possibly mean? Here's what I've found:
To see or eat pizza in a dream represents situations that feel good turning out the way you wanted. Positive feelings about an end result. (Source)
So, pizzas mean positive things in dreams, just like in reality, haha! Who wouldn't become positive when eating a pizza?
I'm ending this post here. At the end of each post I'll include my first post (down below) about this journey as it explains why and how I'm doing this! (Full Post Here)
I Will Be Doing This Every Day!
The main reason I want to start lucid dreaming, is for self improvement. I've been reading a lot about it and studies have shown that you can actually improve certain abilities by doing it in your dreams. For example, if you wan't to learn a foreign language, you can practice it in your dreams. Since you're working with your subconscious mind while you're sleeping, you might find out that you know words that you were never aware of while conscious. It's really all up to your creativity to what you wanna learn and improve upon in your dreams. Is it basketball that you want to become better at? You can do that! Do you want to become a better fucker? Nobody is holding you back! Just make a nasty slut appear in front of you and do whatever you want with her! Apparently while sleeping, the neural pathways engaged in the activity are strengthened, and not only imagined or visualized. To achieve lucid dreaming, a lot of action has to be taken. Well... Some find it really easy to lucid dream, but most have to achieve it the hard way. It's really important to think about lucid dreaming throughout the day. This way you're telling your subconscious mind that this is what you're focusing on and what you want, thus it gives you the access to control the dream world. There are quite a few things I will be doing in order to achieve this goal! So, first of all, I will be posting my whole lucid dreaming journey here on Steemit every day. I will be writing down all of my dreams on a journal. A dream journal is basically essential if you want to achieve lucid dreaming. I will do at least 30-50 reality checks every day. Have a sleeping rhythm. That means I will be going to sleep at the same time every night. I'll also wake up at the same time every morning as well. I will also experiment with some techniques to induce lucid dreams. I won't look at any screens (computer, TV or even phone) 30-60 minutes before bed, because I've read that this helps a lot. For those 30-60 minutes I will be meditating. Talk, read and think about lucid dreaming constantly. Occasionally I will listen to lucid dreaming binaural beats and hypnosis. I will use an app called Awoken. This app is designed to help you achieve lucid dreaming. It reminds you to do reality checks throughout the day and it has a dream journal, which is where I will be writing down all my dreams when I wake up. I will experiment with the supplement called Dream Leaf, I already ordered it and I will use it when it arrives. I will take it only once or at most twice every week to see if it changes anything about my dreams and the ability to become lucid.
Tracking All My Progress!
So, like I've mentioned before, I will be tracking all my progress and I'll be posting about it every day here on Steemit. Also, after I achieve lucid dreaming, I won't stop posting about my experiences for some time still. When I achieve my goal, I will be writing down a lot of experiences that I have inside the dream world, and I'll experiment if it's actually possible to improve real life skills while sleeping. I set a personal goal to achieve lucid dreaming within 30 days starting today. I'm really excited and hopefully I'll be able to do that even faster than 30 days! This is not the first time I try to achieve lucid dreaming, but I never took it seriously and I was too inconsistent, so I never even came close to becoming lucid. But this time I'm gonna SMASH it and record the whole journey on this blockchain!
UPDATE: I achieved lucid dreaming for the first time on day 12
I'm going to lucid dream tonight!

Day 42 - Meditating In a Dream!

My neighbors have dogs too. I got so used to the noise I never notice it anymore unless someone calls my attention to it. But yesterday night, one of them had a chicken. Woke me up at crack of dawn I was so mad.
I also experience sleep paralysis. The first time I was so scared of not being able to move, furthermore that day I dreamt of the bright light people say you have to walk through to afterlife. Scared me shitless. Now whenever that happens I do concentrate on my breathing and it passes.
I have to say, You had quite an active night
Concentrating on your breath will always help in such situations. It helps in every life situation. Great for reducing stress and anxiety!
Yes it does
Haha, yes, sometimes it can be extremely annoying when there is some noise coming from somewhere. Sometimes, I focus so much on that noise then, that it appears worse to me than it actually is. But no wonder, I want to to dream! 😃
But be happy! Since you ate the pizza in your dream, you probably didn't need breakfast anymore after waking up...;)
Yeah by focusing on the noice it always appears worse and that's what I did.
Haha, I never eat breakfast anyways. I go straight to the gym when I wake up.
