Fall between the lines

in #spokenword7 years ago (edited)

There is a crack in the floor
where I keep them
un-touched
un-seen
pristine
secret words
incantations
bloodbone sigils
and tyme

If you look
you may never notice
you may never see
lines between wood slats or
hear those cracks that creak
to those that seek
the arcane divine

You come to me worn thin
gasping for air
and I
take you in
your feet in my rooms
on these floors
I do care

How can you know
what is just underfoot
that crack creaks as you pace
a bruise from the pressure
those poor hidden bits
just under the floor
yet painly they creak & squeak
of a tyme before

Look,
books everywhere
look everywhere but the floor
oh how that crack does creak
a crimson carpet to dampen the sound
keep those tenders shrouded
safe underfoot

You’ve taken up space so swiftly
the air is sweet of almonds and rose
thorn and husk
tread ever so lightly
ever so slowly in rooms
such as these
like the shadow of a thief
like a blanket of space without stars
like a sealed tomb
or
an ever scabbed scar

One book at a tyme
sit and ponder
words
lines
stories bound and glued
stitched and pressed
savour each as a moment's breath
hold each stanza
until you can bear it no longer
keep it
a moment more
then let go
succumb to the flow

The unseen unfurls for the patient reader
not the visitor keen to be seen
glass and lights, stage and curtain
arcane bits underfoot
between the lines
those cracks do creak
of tales n’ tyme
be forewarned
be kind

Here is a tightly bound book
inked parchments
a glyph at a tyme
bit-by-bit
inhale the pages
caress the ribbed spine
supple glove leather
soft and fine
gaze onto swirling words
feel the gravity of the arc
feel the lines

or

Pickle in the process
Pickle in the pages
word-by-word
Pickle in gloom or a room

or

Caress the worn corners
page-by-page
a lick to the finger
press firm
gain traction
push on through
the plot
introduction to bibliography
be true
swirling end pages heavy
and inked
gilt edge
fore-edging
the story untold
ever winding
reach
book-by-book
in a library
so old

A crack in the floor widens
should you read between those lines
its sub-text
sublime
feel the lush interior
of tender bits
pink as ink
preserved with tyme
secret songs sung
so sweet
your feet
set upon mine

<The unseen unfurls for the patient reader
not the visitor keen to be seen

I just adore this. I think while not the most dramatic, it is my personal favorite line. The idea of a patient reader, of someone taking the time to know you deeply and intimately and the truth that should be but is not always obvious: that the preening one focused on being seen is not ever going to be that patient reader.

I really enjoyed this and the recording of it as well :)

Thank you ever so, @jrhughes. <3

That was a key aspect here for sure and such an important aspect to convey. You have a sharp eye indeed. ;)

Words unspoken
Yet the whole things audible
A bit tall but laudable
Nice job

Thank you kindly -- it was a lot of fun and actually a lot of work. I've been playing with these time arts pieces without any training, so there is a learning curve for sure. Amazing how limited the basic programs are too. But man, it's a lot of fun. :)

What does "Time art" refer to exactly? I was curious when I saw the tag, and still am.

It's an art school term refering to video and audio stuff, hemse time... moving narrative stuff.

Highly rEsteemed!
Interesting video with the words.
Quite a development.

Perfect, as always, dear Mr Bacon. <3

There are lots of good tid bits in this one. I l9ved the alliteration and how you hit the rhymes at all the right times (now you've got me doing it!). This is one of my favorites from you. Great write.

Oh my, Moe, thank you.

I really toiled with this one, it was in block form for a while and then I edited it down to more rhythmic ditty -- I still love the way in which it was but it needed to be what it became. ;)

@mamadini I love the way the way this develops the symbols and themes, and progresses in detail and imagery mirroring the the veiled and cyphered subject. Elegantly erotic and vividly expressed.

JP, can you tell I broke my nose? HAHAHA, the last two vids really reveal it -- I think I'm looking like Babs now (Streisand), which I LOVE. Am I weird to be a girl that prefers her broken nose to her original smaller nose? ::giggles::
I fell head first on the ground and my nose took the hit, terrible pain and of course I did not go to hospital, all worked out.
Thank you for always being so supportive. I sure wish we lived closer to share studio space again, you've always been my favorite to art with. <3

Upon closer look, the bridge appears somewhat swollen maybe a bit crooked. Poor Nin-Nin, I'm glad that you have an up beat perspective, just don't go all Fight Club, an breaking yerself! Oh Nisha, i yearn for a time I can paint beside you again, I am forever inspired by your creativity; The depth, complexity and spirit alive in your art burns in the fires of my heart. Thank you Nin, for always encouraging, challenging and inspiring me with your love and art.

Yes, it still feels swollen and is still really yuk yuk when I wake up. It'll be fine -- I am fine with it. haha.

Ooooo with reading along with the video gave me the shivers. I love the creepiness of this!

Thank you ever so kindly. <3

I really seem to have a dark slant, it's always been this way, so it's natural at least. ::chuckles::

Oh so amazing! a layered, rhythmic masterpiece. Image, words, voice & sounds. Really beautiful. I will come back to this over & over.

I'm having a lot of fun doing all these. Thank you dear one.
