The signing of the Brazilian Philippe Coutinho for Barca may be, according to the English press, about to close for a sum more than juicy for Liverpool. The mysterious groin injury that did not allow the Brazilian to be in the Liverpool game against Burnley triggered the alarm about his departure from the English club, something that the press and English fans begin to assume, even those who saw more than impossible Coutinho exit in this winter market.

Anfield has changed that position and the idea of staying at all costs with his player, because that is about to change. In summer they flatly refused to open any way to negotiate the Brazilian, by active or passive, even if the player himself said he was injured or asked to be transferred, in short, ignoring any kind of pressure.

Liverpool and Barça are very close to reaching an agreement for the transfer of Brazilian Philippe Coutinho, who could reach Barcelona in the coming days. Both clubs will meet on Wednesday in London to finalize the signing of the best player Liverpool has today.

Except for some setback, Coutinho will be a Barça player for the next 5 or 6 seasons. From the Catalan club feels optimism, but, in public, it is preferred to maintain an absolutely prudent and conservative speech, remembering that there is still no closed price for the final transaction. The value will be around 150 million euros, since the variables that Liverpool will receive will be charged.

Coutinho, 25, will not play the cup derby against Everton this Friday, January 5, so the uncertainty about his future does nothing but feed more and more with the passing of days. The player wants to make his current team understand that he would achieve the record transfer in the history of the Premier League by a footballer for which he barely paid 13 million euros in 2012 to sign him for Inter Milan.

The official store of Nike also submitted by mistake the signing of Coutinho by Barca. These leaks usually augur the officiality of operations. Brands, clubs, everything is prepared, usually with more than privileged information, so that when the moment arrives and the signing is completed, everything is ready with exclusive contents or products to sell. This leak, which has so bothered Liverpool that will sue the American firm, also invites us to think that Coutinho will end sooner rather than later in Can Barça.

Barça, which has prepared a succulent offer of 110 million fixed and another 40 in variables for the player, hopes that there will soon be positive news from England. Some sources trust that it will arrive next week.

Interesting read. Did you make it all up, yourself? ;)

What are your sources? Spanish newspapers (that have been known to print ridiculous stories) or the Daily Express (hardly renowned for quality journalism)? Nits were saying he'd go over the summer - he didn't. So, unless Liverpool's price is met, how have things changed, exactly? He only just signed a 5 year contract pretty recently.

And if you think Nike made a 'mistake' running that ad, lol, you'll believe anything. They were trying to unsettle the player, quite plainly.

Your stats were accurate, at least - probably (couldn't be arsed checking them, and you had no need to lie there, I expect).
