🔲 SMALL STEPS OF PROGRESS!

in #steem7 years ago

This message makes me feel a little bit like a hypocrite.. But hey, no one is perfect, and they say that the first step to resolving the problem is identifying the problem!

Anyways, the reason why I say this is because I have a shark kind of personality. I hate taking small steps. Only HUUUGE steps. LOL!

Now don't get me wrong, taking huge leaps of action is fantastic to get results! It's just pretty difficult to do it consistently.. That's my biggest downfall actually. The fact that I am not patient enough.

Big steps of progress are great, however smaller, more consistent steps of progress are even more powerful! If you are not happy about your current situation, then all you need to do is make a change! Yes, that sounds waaaaay easier than it actually could be.. But remember, difficulty is just a decision.

You have the power to make your tasks far easier for yourself. Sometimes we are afraid to try new things, and make a few changes because we don't even know where to begin. It's mainly because we over-complicate the situation.

Say for example you feel like you could be using your time better during your day. You want to make a change, but just don't know where to begin. Well, what time do you usually wake up in the morning? 8am? 9am? 10am?

Well, in this case, making a great (But simple) leap of action would be to immediately whip-out your phone, and set your alarm for 6am to go off everyday. Then make yourself a 30-day challenge to wake up at that time every single day.

From that one simple action of setting your alarm, and sticking to that goal, you will build-up self confidence to tackle the next thing. It could be writing a to-do list every morning after you wake up!

Doing these things will start to get the ball rolling for you, and momentum will start to build in your life!

Now I said in the beginning of this post that I feel like a hypocrite.. The reason for that is because I currently feel like I could be spending the time in my day better. However, I am currently not doing these things. I usually fall asleep at around 3-5am every morning.. Waking up at around 1pm. I thought of this 30 challenge whilst writing this article, and I think I am going to give it a go!

Feel free to join in on this challenge. I just set my alarm for 5am to go off every single day! Let's do this!

Didn't you hear about small drops make a pond? :P

Hey nice one haha! That’s a phrase for this example!

small drops tend to break the most hard-to-break rocks!

Your big blue fonts catch my attention. How do you do that? Lmao. But no, of course this motivational content is what amazes me too because I always wake up around 1 pm. I have an insomnia so sleeping at 10 pm is too early for me but yes, I wanna try new things to make a change. As they say, "let the change begins with you." Thank you for this learning I got today. You teach me how to reach my daily goals. I can never forget the you said to try something new if we want change. Resteemed and upvoted!

Taking smaller steps and breaking things down is much easier and better imo. You have to take small steps to get there, when we only have big ones we can get discourage or not know the way in between those leaps. Great message here!

So true! Trust me, I know first hand about what you just said lol. I crave to take only big steps in the things I do, I have for all my life basically.. It’s a strong mentality to have, if you can hold it and actually resist the urge to opt out when things get tough..

But sometimes taking the more patient approach can really payoff tremendously better!

For example: A Steemit account 😂🤣

haha yea I agree. Thanks so much @enazwahsdarb!!!

What do you mean??? How can I set up my alarm if I am still awake lolol

Ohhhh snap 🤣😂 Forgot to add the part where I need to start falling asleep at around 12ish hahaha.

It doesn't matter when you wake up, but it does matter that you keep a good rhythm for your body. So many times, we find ourselves at our computer or drafting table, when we should be going to sleep, pushing ourselves to get a little more done. And, this little more done doesn't really help, because we aren't at top efficiency.

But in the moment, it feels so much like the correct thing to do, because we want to get it done.

So true! The thing for me lately is that I am only really tired by the time I fall asleep. And nowadays that’s around 5am. That’s my sleeping pattern that’s always adjusting lol.

But there’s nothing like that feeling of waking up super early, grinding things out for a bit and once you’re tired, you look at the clock and it’s still super early.

It’s just such a confidence boost in my opinion.

Then again, having a schedule in place also just feels much more organized

I've been spending most of my late evenings (10PM - 1AM) playing games... I'm going to limit myself to 1 hour of gaming, then going to bed and reading a book!

Going to be waking up at 7AM for now, and will switch it to 6AM when autumn hits (love running before breakfast)! Might be a good option for you as well!

All the best, Nejc

Nice one! Yeah that’s a great idea for running. I really need to start doing a decent amount of cardio. Need to get a little shredded I think 🤔 haha.

Exercise before breakfast early morning is simply beast-mode!

And funny enough, I have also gotten back into wasting valuable time on gaming. Need to substitute that with personal development!

Just remember to have fun while at it! I know a ton of people who decided to stop gaming and ended up burning themselves out with incorrect running.

The first month of running will be literal hell - you wont have the motivation to even go - especially in the mornings.

What i did to remedy this, is: zombieRun app (cute little story, you have to sprint to outrun zombies, you collect airdrops on a map of your city, and many other small things, that make running feel like a quest, if you will.)

You need to remember to take it easy at first - its better to run a few miles at your pace, and insert a couple of short sprints in there (when a zombie starts catching up to you!), compared to running 2 miles at a pace way above your comfort zone and burning yourself and your motivation out!

All is great thank you! How are you? I am on YouTube now :)

That's great ! Don't forget about Steemit :D Best wishes to you always.
