SteemFolio - First participants

in #steemfolio7 years ago (edited)

Since we have just started out and the posts might not receive much visibility/rewards I decided to add another 245 STEEM to the Portfolio from my personal account to make it easier to start trading with it and investing. This brings the total now to 264.323 SP and 258.188 Steem. To make it easier to follow, all $D will be converted to Steem after payouts.

Steemfolio statistics and balance at current Steem price.

Since we have just started out and the posts might not receive much visibility/rewards I decided to add another 250 STEEM to the Portfolio from my personal account to make it easier to transfer it so I can start trading and investing with it.

I decided easiest and fairest would be to do it this way where I give stakes out for every post I make. The post could either be about an investment, a trade or just an update on statistics. My account @cryptochannel will be upvoting comments on the posts and that way more stakes are created and put into the pool of the portfolio. 1 vote = 1 stake from now on.

This means that on almost every post there will be more stakes created. To not make this abuse-able by other accounts I will issue the votes which create stakes from my own judgement to the interactivity of the commenters. (This doesn't mean that there are bad or good comments, just to not give a stake to spammers)

How you can receive a stake in the Steemfolio.

  1. Write a comment on the post, about anything related to it.
  2. That's it! Receive posting rewards (after HF17) and a stake in the Steemfolio just by being interactive on the platform!

How to withdraw your stake from the Steemfolio.

  1. Write a comment stating you want to liquidate your stake. The stake will be removed and you will receive your share in SteemPower approximately one week from then.

Let me know what you think of this stake-based distribution in the comment section!

Follow @cryptochannel so you don't miss out on crypto content!

Sort:

I have to admit that sounds very interesting and I' even more curious about the nature of the other cryptos you are into, would you mind elaborating on the ones you were speaking of with @tfeldman? I'd definitely be interested in participating, especially if the cryptos followed are along the type I would like to support.

Thanks for this amazing opportunity for us all and for your own contribution of Steem to the stake as well. Does it mean we also need to put in some Steem too and get a percentage on the pro rata of the total stake if we want to liquidate?

All for one and one for all! Namaste :)

I think overall it will be into all sorts of cryptos! All in different sections according to what their goals are and general development from my own judgement of what I read and re-search about them. I started off on this account with a few currencies but had to liquidate them when I went inactive.

Also different investments depending on how early and the risk factor (there are a lot of scams out there in the early development phases of cryptocurrency start-ups). I've had some good speculations in the last 4 years and it is a bummer that I never held on to the coins long enough, with this project that will hopefully change! :)

All currencies which I will invest in will be posted about after the purchase (this is to not give room for abuse, ex. someone reads I will invest in x coin thus goes and pumps the price prior to me making the purchase) while at the same time proving I am still holding the funds as to not abuse my posting power for myself (example, I announce that I recently bought coin x, random reader decides to make an own investment which pumps the price a bit which I could abuse to sell for a quick profit)

There will also be scattered investments where I purchase currencies with low volume little at a time as to not effect markets too much.

Its in the beginning stages but hopefully it will evolve into something easier to understand and entertaining to read along while at the same time raising the interactivity on the platform and interest in cryptocurrencies. :)

Great! So, do we need to invest actual Steem or Steem Power to allow for our account to be created?

Oh, my mind wandered a bit and forgot to reply to that.

I am currently creating stakes for active commenters on my posts only, might later start creating more and voting up comments in other posts too but for now the stakes represent 10% of the funds of the account, 50% which will be held in SP, 50% which will be invested and traded into others.

When the users decide to withdraw their stake it will be powered up as SteemPower on their accounts of the 50 % SP share and the other 50% of invested share. But the latter will only happen once every quarter so it doesn't give me too much work and it let's the assets sit for a while and potentially gain value over time.

So no, no actual investment needed except your time and discussion. A stake was already created for you with the vote on your comment. (this is all done manually for now :P)

Oh, wow! Thanks a bunch for all the information and the investment in the stake as well as all the work you are doing to make this happen. Now it is time for me to go back, upvote full % and resteem then. All for one and one for all! Namaste :)

No worries about the voting! Will be posting every now and then with small updates here and there, its just starting out and I don't expect to make much posting rewards in the beginning or at times like these where prices are pretty low. Hopefully the posts that will be a bit longer and focused more on the coins I will be taking up will reach more readers.

Thanks for the re-steem!

Thanks for my stake! Which currencies are you investing in? I was confused by the first post. It is just steem rewards or are you venturing to other crypto types?

The SteemPower will remain in SP at all times to support the platform and since I strongly believe Steem won't drop much lower than what it currently is at. Will only be powered down if someone wants to remove their stake since 5% is from that.

But yes, other cryptos. When a participant wants to withdraw that stake too, the profits will be converted to Steem and powered up to that users account.

Thanks man! Sounds great. Thanks for the reply. Good investment you have going here!

Thanks for the interest and hopefully it will be of some value in the future either the information I write about or the stakes I give out, hehe. :)

I had no idea about this, the concept sounds interesting! Which posts are the ones that are commentable?

Pretty much all of them, but I will be more careful in the future about the stakes I give out, just to avoid abusers/doubles/sockpuppets. Its going to be a bit difficult to decide at times of course but since its free and only a bonus for commenting (without the upcoming comment pool rewards in mind) I think there won't be too much drama around it. Also the reputation system we have here on steemit will be of good use to help with that. :)

If all goes well and I can actively continue posting about this and we start seeing some profits in the long haul I was also thinking about creating its own asset through Bitshares, where the stakes will be tokens instead distributed towards the platform to active contributers and their value is measured by the Portfolio and its speculation/success chance. Now this is of course way too early but more experimenting with something like that sure would be fun!

But yeah, for now whichever comments I vote for with this account will receive a stake. Congrats you just got one! ;)

Hurrah!! It all sounds like quite an ingenious idea!!

I'm looking forward to seeing how this evolves. Thanks for adding the 245 Steem to the total stake.

Hehe, it was mostly due to the posting rewards being a bit on the low side lately with the Steem Price which would cause some difficulties diversifying it into several other cryptos with fee's and buy order size limits. :)

It's funny how 39.5 cents for a 2/24 seems like a significant amount. But to someone like me, who is not a cryptocurrency person, it does seem like a lot, lol. I'll learn a lot with your steemfolio, I bet. Thanks for the opportunity.

Haha well it did get a small starting boost from my own funds, but I did feel a little bad having had to cancel my previous projects due to inactivity and the users that were a part of them never got to see them evolve. So hoping that this time around I will be able to find the time to put into this and the incentive for the community to get involved and comment will surely help me stay motivated. :)

Thanks for the comment!

count me in)) I also followed you on golos) Good luck with your ideas!

That's great! :)

i guess you need to add translation on golos, most users there jusd do not know english or know it very bad)

Hehe, yeah I have a hard time finding translators though. Google translate for Russian is the worst!

Currently don't have too much funds to give an incentive for someone to translate them. Maybe at some point I can ask them to translate for a stake in the project, hehe. :)

Well, what would you say if i translate your posts for 50% of GBG? You can do separate post on russian or add translation into your original posts )

That would be great. I could add a few extra funds to the starting capital for the golos project since it will be in a similar nature just with different users. Could you contact me on steemit.chat under the username acidyo?

This is a great idea. Look forward to seeing how this project evolves.

There are currently 24 stakes in the project from 16 different participants.
