This is why I'm deleting my tweets with the tag #SteemHostileTakeOver

When Justin baught steemit, I didn't care that much. I thought with all his traffic he could help steem and make it finally the top cryptocurrencies. But, after he said that he gonna swap it to tron, I was angry like hell. A lot of steemians were !

Then the community started a movement to protect steem and we used #SteemHostileTakeOver in twitter. Exactly about month took our community to decided to create an other chain. I was against this idea. I thought we could fight to the end. I thought we could win and still think that we could win if we pushed more time. A lot of crypto communities talked about us and a lot was spread in the news about steem. Big crypto portal were writing about steem almost everyday and I saw the light. I thought our community will never give up.

Then top witnesses decided to fork the chain. In fact they just created it and announced about that and I didn't see any kind of poll about how to name it or something. Just the top people said that will be called hive and that we should all move there. I felt that the move is not decentralized. I felt that the community didn't participate in anything. I wish I'm wrong and you could prove me that. Maybe I'm mistaken.

But, during that month I was posting a few tweets a day to support #SteemHostileTakeOver. I did everything to make our witnesses voted by others and to make them win. You can even see this post and how I could move one witness with the community @dcooperation from the position 30 to the position 11 in one day : The impact of DCooperation members !. That was only 13 days ago.

Then I joined hive anyway. I thought maybe it's the only way to protect the community and I we may move all from steem to hive. But, I watched witnesses and waht they were doing. I watched how a lot of them disabled their witnesses even after telling everyone that they will stay here at least 13 weeks to support steemians to withdraw their money. I wanted them to stay for us, just like we fighted for them in twitter for a month. I was one of the most active in twitter with that tag attacking Justing and exhcnages who collude with him to takeover steem. I did everything in my hands to not let the takeover happen. I never fighted something that hard in my life. That was a great experience.

I feel disappointed. Disappointed after all my trying and that i pushed my followers to support me and everybody. Disappointed that we gave up on steem. Disappointed that we all tried but failed.

Maybe you say that creating an other chain was the only way to win. Maybe that was the only way to save our community. But, I thought we will all fight to the end. I thought we will win. I see now the community just splitting between those who stay in steem and those who left to hive. Between those who are trying to create in both and between those who are just lost and can't get what's happening. Some are just seeing it an opportunity to earn more with their content.

But, the thing that most applications that we promoted for years moved now to hive. A lot of developers and people who are building all those dapps are there.

I'm tired about all this. That's why I will remove all my tweets about the tag. I can't remove posts because it's created in the blockchain and even Justin learned a lesson that any post created here will stay here forever. I'm not willing to fight for something were I will lose just because a group of powerful people decided to give up. I will just create as usual. Sometimes. I'm not even active in both chains. I'm just in shock after all this. I really don't know what to create about. I'm just lost.

I hope I will find again the creative energy to be active. But, for now I'm just taking a break.

I've been in steem more than 2 years and 10 months and that was a long journey !

But, I still care about those who moved to the other chain and I wrote an honest post about how I want to see it. I don't think that will happen, because I see a lot of similar things. You can read that here if you want..

Peace !

Hi @clixmoney

I share all your thoughts and many people we trusted gave us a big shock. I must admit that I was completely wrong about them.
Therefore, give new witnesses an opportunity in Steem that wants Steem to become what it was intended to be. I know many are still fighting for steem. And I think both chains can succeed if they put down the battle ax. We have to give Tron a chance to show what he can do for Steem. He didn't get that opportunity from all of us.
He did not buy steem to dump his funds, he is a businessman and is looking at long-term investments.
Now it is up to all of us to vote for witnesses who can really make our goal again

For sure. That's why I even started to vote for some witnesses supporting that. Those are @dtube.witness and @justyy who I was voting for all the time, even during the takeover because he created an awesome tool for steem, I use almost every single day. In fact those are a lot of tools here : https://steemyy.com/. And since they are all disabling their witnesses and wanting steem down, I will vote even for @blockbrothers and @steemhunt even if I'm not using their services. We all need steem up at least for 13 weeks and forever for those who will keep posting here always. + @steemchiller the creator of https://steemworld.org/ .

I still feel strange, on both chains, lol.
I came here today to see what the people I know do in steem. I wanted to make a post, but there was no momentum.

I think, for now, I will continue to publish on both channels when I can.

That's great. Thanks a lot for your support !

I still try to assimilate change and still have in mind to strengthen what is necessary to grow, my brother. We keep going.

Yeah, everything will be ok.

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 5 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 3 SBD worth and should receive 132 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.

Thanks a lot.

I have 132 votes, what's now @trufflepig ?

Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts about the whole situation. Taking a break might be a good idea, so you can come back to an improved blockchain with new motivation.

You're very welcome. I hope the break will help. I hope to see the change in the blockchain. For now I see almost the same people in the trending page.

"and between those who are just lost and can't get what's happening. "
Yep, that's me right now.
Peace.

It's easy. Steem was attacked, the community support witnesses to be in the top, they created an other blockchain. Most of dapps moved there and some creators as well. But, dtube is working in both chains.

To address your first concern, why it was called Hive without any community input, this was done because of time. The idea was to create a fork quickly to move off Steem. I wish more time and input was available for this decision, but it is what it is.

Your second concern about Steem witnesses not running their witnesses for 13 weeks as mentioned. I originally planned to run mine for 13 weeks, as did a few. The problem here is even before the fork landed, the original top 20 immediately lost the top 20 spots, I was the last person in the top 20 for a while but eventually got pushed into the 26-28 spot range. At this point, we had no control to stop a hard or soft fork and had zero power to do anything. Many of us got a lot of shit for running a Steem witness after the fork from both sides. I stayed as a witness for a while, but eventually, I just gave up. There is nothing I can do on the Steem change to prevent any more hostile actions and changes.
