MOTIVATION: have you learnt something today?

Our minds are non-physical. Although, some people believe they are roughly identical with our brains.

I do believe our minds have the capacity to hold as much information as the brain. However, I don't believe the mind has a physical structure.

The brain being physical can hold as much information as possible. Infact, one human brain can hold about 1 MILLION GIGABYTE (petabyte).

To get a clearer picture of this size, I will illustrate it by citing an example.

The American national library
images (40).jpg

has a digital archive of public domain which contains 15 million digital objects in 2016 ... these objects occupied 7 MILLION GIGABYTE (petabyte)... that is ×7 of what one human brain can hold.

This means one person's brain can hold 14% of the digital objects in that national library...that is about 2.1 MILLION DIGITAL OBJECTS in one brain...as small as it is.

What am I driving at?

If our brain that is Physical can hold that size of information, you can imagine the size of information our minds, that is non-physical, can hold.

That is why I wrote this post to tell that Learning can never, I REPEAT, never exhaust your mind.

Forget about Information overload, learn as much as you can.

the more you learn, the better you become.

Make up your mind from today that you will not go to bed the same way you wake up. Learn something related to your field every day.

If you do that consistently, you will end up becoming a professional or an expert in your field,

NEVER STOP LEARNING...YOU CAN NEVER LEARN TOO MUCH.

Sort:

I've learnt all kinda thingity-things,
Corpulent druges and coal-pressed rings.

Mind is millions of gigabytes? Yet I'm an odd bot.
I can old Gaziliabytes! Wanna bet? NOT!

That is amazing

I like to think, it's my favorite pastime. Every time I have the opportunity to immerse myself in my mind, I embark on journeys through prolific philosophical labyrinths that extend beyond the supposed "reality" in which we exist. It is amazing how many things our mind can do, but the most surprising thing is that it can hold something we call consciousness and I love to believe that this is the origin of existence. Although it is a sense of existence from an anthropomorphic point of view, seen clearly from the perception of the human, in that way I believe that everything that exists, does so because the mind also exists, "I think therefore I am" René Descartes.

The mind is amazing and can perform unimaginable tasks and that's why I totally agree with you, if the mind can be the starting point of the Universe, it can also hold all that information contained in that great library you're talking about here. The mind can do everything!

That is great... thanks for commenting

Inspiring and unique approach to expounding the capacity of our brains. As you say, Mind is something greater than brain alone, it is the culmination of the entire body's intelligence, including the invisible energy fields that surround it, as yet undetected by mainstream science.

Learning is extremely important! Without this faculty, what purpose would there be in living?

Whaooohh... i love your comment. I'm noting that your definition of mind - as the culmination of the entire body's intelligence.

Nice one @d-pend

I think that our mind is far greater than we think it is, and we can only hope to awaken its potential in our lifetime!
I meditate to improve my mental capacity, as I find I have slowly gained more control over my thoughts!!
Have you ever tried meditating before? @bimboola42

Also, thank you for your great content, I will remind myself, and strive to push myself everyday (:
