Welcome to my Steem Stats Report for Thursday, June 22, 2017. All data is coming directly from the Steem blockchain and is based on UTC time.
Hard Fork 19 has tremendously impacted the daily number of posts and votes. The number of posts skyrocketed to a new record of 114,524 posts yesterday while on the other hand, the number of votes was a little bit lower than before HF19. It seems people are voting differently since their vote has more influence.
- 2,060 new accounts were created yesterday.
- A large amount of 2,611.822 SBD was converted to Steem. It takes a week before this amount is actually converted. Hopefully a large part is being powered up thereafter.
- 732,695.194 STEEM was 'powered up' yesterday. Pretty nice.
- Something I don't understand. Only ~16,000 new Steem was added to the Steem supply in the last 24 hours. This was about 50,000 per day before HF19. The amount of Steem that is being subtracted from the reward pool per day is much higher. Can anyone explain how this works?

8. Steem Price Update
SteemNow.com
I'm excited about a new feature on Steemnow.com I'm currently working on. It shows you how much your upvote is worth in SBD. Keep an eye on my blog. I expect to have it finished and online in a few hours. Here is a preview in advance:

Interesting
Me too
$7 on one vote. That's huge!!
After the HF19 some kind of euphoria took place, as the rewards seemed to explode. I would be careful to take any conclusions at this time. We should wait at least one week and see, whether the bias trend for steemit is stable.
Thanks for your data feed day by day.
Totally in agreement with this statement - patience is required. The reactions are completely the opposite as after the last HF - last time it improved daily, maybe this time the other way round.
Live and in action - Following this very closely to see how it turns. If anything, it's garnered already a lot of new publicity because of this change. Way to go Steem.
Thanks for your post! It is interesting to see that more people are attracted now to be active and power up! Since it takes a week to convert the Steem dollars, we could see a price spike next week? I like Steeming like this much more and I hope it is sustainable!
Thanks a lot for the data and the new feature of 'SteemNow'! :)
Concerning HF 19:
After I had enough time to think about the changes I predict an exclusive 'club' of big accounts voting for each other with their few available heavy votes (which is a completely rational behavior as the system allows it) which means that in the long run smaller users will get even less of the cake. Why would a big account prefer to vote for other big accounts instead for some minnows? Simply because he rightly expects big votes in return for his own votes ... if a minnow returns his vote the reward is very low though ...
Apart from that also self-voting respectively voting on ones second, third, fourth, ... own account unfortunately has become much more attractive now.
To flatten the reward curve was a really good idea which sadly has been counteracted by the increase of the impact of the 100 % votes by a factor of 4, while voting power is decreasing much faster than before.
I think, considering the fast growing number of new members, it would have been much better to favor spreading many small votes instead of increasing the impact of a few 100 % votes. Of course I still can spread many 1 % votes, but the temptation for big accounts is rather high to exclusively vote for each other (respectively do self-voting).
Time will tell what will happen...
I'm happy with the changes at this moment, but I have my concerns as well. Self-voting is bad behavior, altough highly encouraged now. It's not easy to reach equality in a world with rich and poor people.
Since I am very new to this, could you provide a guide on how we should be using the voting strength. Since my voting strength is low I always use 100%. Am i to understand that this is somehow depleting my voting strength. In other words am i blowing all my strength on one day on one 100% vote?
awesome, very nice and detail
Your steemnow.com tool is so good. I've been telling my friends so they can keep motivated. Thanks!!
Thank you :)
I would love to understand that, too. Until now it was just appearing to me that everyone started to earn higher rewards. Now your data show that this is actually the case. As the total 30d reward pool hasn´t changed in size then there must be less available for distribution in the coming days, no? It´s puzzling. Hope someone can elucidate us.
Also, my curation rewards trippled over night. Who are those who now earn less curation rewards in order to compensate my gains?
Thanks for the report!
@aggroed , any thoughts on this?
Great post! Thanks for all the work. I have been wondering about these numbers.
Your website and the new feature idea is awesome.
resteemed.
That looks like an amazing tool! Thank you! I'll be using it often. :)
I just added Steemnow.com to the front page of
Just wondering - Is there any way to show where the accounts are signing up from (what part of the world)? I'd be curious to know.
Thank your for adding Steemnow.com to WelcomeToSteemit.com :)
It would certainly be interesting to know where people come from, but this data is not available on the blockchain.
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/steemit.com gives some insight, but I don't know how accurate this data is.
