How do you think they were toasting the bread in the 18th century ?
Straight in the fireplace ?
Because I supposed they would not start the kitchen oven just for a sandwich...

Probably on a grill or oven in all likelyhood. Most of the structures would have probably been heated by a fireplace or oven Anyway at that time soooo maybe that’s what happened. Also he was a lord so i’m sure whatever he wanted he got.
