Let's help the steemit devs! Steem (blockchain) isn't down; has never been!
@busy.org is in test phase but works well. You can also use that, if your current intention is to create a post. However, if you would like to vote with sliders, you may want to do that with https://steemitstage.com currently as it works and i am currently responding to my comments and curating as well.
Features like slider votes are being worked upon to be added by @busy.org according to @fabien. All other features on the new @busy.org beta interface work awesomely, even transfers and steemconnect v2.

Is like sandbox for steemit devs, to help them with optimization of steemit.com. The interface is practically just like steemit.com, however, tests are ran or implemented on there first; tested by us and feedback from our use, is used by steem devs to make optimizations before an actual implementation on steemit.com.
At times like this, when www.steemit.com appears down, we can easily use https://steemitstage.com and enjoy our steemit journey, while give steemit developers something to work with.

This is especially for many who interact non-stop and want to respond to comments and for curators who like gem and digging.

A witness server is simply one of the servers holding the steem blockchain. Each is ran in decentralized locations round the world.
There are many witness servers too, so that there is backup non-stop and so that transactions upon the steem blockchain pull through, non-stop!
Too, there is a human factor (witness). So behind these servers are reputable steemians. By reputation, i don't mean numbers or (reputation score) necessarily. I mean reputation for real!

Yes, many steemians create value, unannounced and behind the scenes too. And on steemit, it is value that is reward; content creation being just one of the ways to add value!
So a reputation score of 25, as seen on steemit, doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have an actual rep of 100.
Altogether, a reputation is score is a good measure of actually rep as these numbers have a history dented into them and over time, growth and evolution happens.
Yes, you can't jump from rep 25 to 70, if time didn't fly by. Ofcourse, there are other factors involved when it comes to measure rep but time (history) is very much involved, whether on the scenes (on steemit) or behind the scenes.
Overall, actual rep is what we seek, so let's be humans, forgiving, un-condeming, loving and etc

One thing I love in decentralization is the fact that everyone's bits comes to form the whole. Interesting to find out about steemitstage.com. I have another word for my "always complaining" fellows anytime there seems to be a ddos attack.

Hi @surpassinggoogle, Though a lots of efforts are being done by the Steemit management and Witnesses in particular to make it a better platform. This is all appreciable. Your post is another proof of how much good work you're doing . This is the positive side of the picture.
The negative side is Steemit site is going down countless times in a single day. I brought a at least 8-10 new users to join Steemit. Unfortunately, I brought them to Steemit in the same week. So, all the efforts that I had done ended in smoke.
It's true that there are alternate solutions like busy.org, esteem, ChainBB and now this Steemitstage. But this does not solve the problem because the main site is Steemit. Users already have to manage posting key, active key and a master password for Steemit to avoid any attack on their account by some hacker. When we tell the new users to take this alternate route, they get frustrated. If this had not been the case, why are Steemit posts very low in number during this week?

Hello Terry. I remember to use busy.org whenever the user interface (UI), steemit.com is down for whatever reason, maybe due to another DDos attack. I am responding to this post of yours from busy.org. I have no problem using the slider button. So, it works well for me, although the user needs to apply some skills of patience to be able to manage the slider button. Thank you very much for loving my mama and sending 25 SBD for her birthday. I've had the weirdest experience last night - I posted, it appeared on the "new" section and then I copied the URL but when I refreshed and sent it in the chat channel it looked weird and had nothing on it except for the link
what could be the problem?
thumbnails on some posts are also not showing up
comments and ups are loading but takes time and sometimes had to cast them several times .. is it just getting sluggish when it says gateway 503 or something like that?

Yes its slow. Its been having some attacks. Something too many transactions at a time. I wonder who is doing such. But i am sure they are working on it. i am using steemitstage for now

Thanks for this revelation. I was even planning to make a post about busy.org before I stumbled upon this one, which has www.steemitstage.com in addition to what I originally had in mind to communicate my fans about. This post is most appreciated because it would help ease the nerves of some members who are ill informed and who don't know that there is a wide difference between steemit.com and steem blockchain.
Steemit.com is only a front-end built upon steem blockchain. Steem does not depend on Steemit.com as alternative front-ends can as well be used to access steem blockchain just like busy.org, chainbb.com and the latest revelation from you.
I think this fact should be communicated to people during sign up stage to avoid unnecessary panics whenever steemit.com is down for one reason or the other.

Yes. Ofcourse, do the post about busy. I am testing the new version of busy currently and it will be great. You can talk to @fabien if you want to test it. And yes that difference you mention is even the sole info steemians need to tap into success, vision etc. Many get lost in only the blogging

But seeing you approve it, I'll give it a try even though I usually use busy.org to access it as I kinda likes its GUI. Great to see another alternative. Keep steeming.

I usually copy my comments before clicking post, nothing is as frustrating as making a nice comment and see it disappear after clicking post with no way to recover it but by typing it again. Happened to me thrice or so then I learned the hard way. So, I now copy before posting, if it disappears, I'll just paste and try again. It is a bother, but I guess it's just for the time being. Thanks.
Steemit had a little issue few days ago, post disappearing but I guess it has been fixed
I tried posting from busy.org yesterday for the first time. There's further development like you pointed out but seems really promising. I love the "draft". I can now scribble ideas as they come, then improve later as inspiration come.
Will try the staging steemitstage.com later. I was actually able to vote with the slider in busy though, they must have added that recently.
The busy i refer to is a new one being tested. i made an error. i was using the one when i was doing this post. busy has always exist, so i believe the old one has the slider. If you want to test to new one, you can contact their CEO @fabien. You have done nothing wrong. Not all info is bare.

Hi, I think there's a typo towards the end -- you say to type in "steemgig" but the image further above shows your witness node to be "steemgigs", plural at the end.
I checked both users, and "steemgig" is only rep 25 and hasn't done much, so I think you may want to add an "s" to the sixth word from the end.
If I'm seeing this wrong, please let me know what's right? Thanks!

Thanks for the good wishes! The first had me out of work for 7 months -- and, I went back too soon. The second permanently disabled me, and the third was just the universe saying "hey, stop thinking about writing code" or something...
