What's on your bucket list

in #thoughts5 years ago

I was at the beach with my wife yesterday enjoying the beautiful weather on the first day of the new year; It's one of my happy places...No, not the beach, just spending time with my wife.

I can rely on her you see; Her honesty, intelligence and that laugh she has when she pretends some stupid thing I said was actually funny. It always makes me smile. It simply feels good to have her companionship and we enjoy each others' company; We're on the same page and have each others' backs.

We were people-watching [which we find hilarious] and making up stories about them, funny ones; Each of us was trying to out-do the other's fictional story about the people we saw and we having a great time. It lead us into a conversation about what people do, what they want to do and what they will never do. This lead us into a conversation about bucket-lists and the things we would like to do.

I have a few things on my list, separate from hers, and we have mutual bucket-list items also. One of mine is to find a cure for stupidity, especially for a few steem-users here who are the quintessential example of stupid, however in reality I know that's not going to happen; Besides, even if I found the cure I doubt it would help that handful of retards much. The others are more realistic though. Take a look.

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to hear what some of you guys had on your list; If you're willing to share that is.

So, if you want to entertain us with a few items from your bucket-list please do so in the comments below. You may also like to do a post about them expanding on each a little more for us; Why they are on the list and all.

If you do want to join in, tag #bucketlist so I can find them, or simply tag me into the post.

Sounds like my thing. This is the kind of game I like to play with my missus, where we observe strangers in public (does that make us stalkers lol) and try to imagine what their life stories are like.

My bucket list:

  • Go bungee jumping
  • Visit the International Space Station (Hope the option will be available in my lifetime)
  • Work for NASA (Oh well, wish me luck with that)
  • Visit Antarctica
  • Buy myself a house big enough to accommodate every stray dog I stumble upon

Maybe I'm forgetting a couple of things here, but you get the picture. Gonna need hard work and tons of luck, but I think I got this.

Let's see!

A stalker? Well, if you are we are too! Welcome to the club! Nah, actually I don't think it makes us stalkers ..Just observant and creative! 🤣

Bungee huh? I've done that. It's a pretty good buzz and a thing that brings a lot of satisfaction..Jumping off that platform was pretty difficult but once done...Was awesome.

I like your Antarctica one too! That would be cool I think..there's cruises there, on small ships specifically designed for the area which we would like to do...I think they are expensive though.

Hard work and luck...Yes, I agree...I hope it happens though, your list. If not, well something will happen if you do something...The right things.

Thanks for reading and responding.

I have 2.5 of those, Steemfest and the Pyramids. The half is the crypto millionaire, I have the crypto part already.

You've been to Egypt haven't you?

I haven't got a bucket list, I don't want to write down things i want to do that i know ill never do. :)

Yes, I know another person that was like that. Didn't see the point in doing so...A few years later they decided to do it, to write them down, and as it turns out they managed to tick off several previously out of reach things and became an advocate for list writing. We all do it differently though. I write lists of things I would like to do, all the time.

I may just try it when I'm feeling better. You never know miracles do happen :)

I don't think there's any one way of doing a thing and when humans are concerned, what works for one may not for another. I think, with lists, having it on paper clarifies it and makes the thing more real. That in turn keeps it front of mind, maybe prompting some of the actions required to move one closer to it. That's the theory anyway.

Maybe try it out sometime when you're in the right headspace and see how it goes. It may work or may not.

I will once my heads clearee. I do like the feeling of satisfaction when i tick something off.

That's the good part for me also, besides achieving the thing in the first place...Ticking it off and the satisfaction I get from it. I don't put everything on a list but it works for me mostly and so I do it. Good luck with it if you decide to do it.

Thank you :)

Don't think there is any cure for stupidity 🤣

Hi there, thanks for saying so. It's been a long, long time since you've commented on one of my posts, so welcome back.

I can pop your character into a forest (or at least bush, I haven't quite worked out what the climate is like in my part of the world in 2000 years) cottage til you get your own ;D Can you live in a forest cottage in Tuscany and knock off two things at once? :D

Machu Pichu and pyramids seems like popular things to do, I know quite a few friends with that on their bucket lists.

I don't have a list, or perhaps more accurately there's only one thing on it and I'm not getting there XD

Hmm, Tuscany forest? Maybe. I'll have to check. The forest cottage though is something I want to own...My happy place.

Only one thing on your list? must be a very important thing...I hope somehow it happens.

It's the thing I'm working on, only important to me :)

Oh...Well if you're working on it it's going to happen.

Hope your year started well. Heating up again here tomorrow...42. Back to work for me Monday too! Sickie ya reckon? 😊

Most definitely

Nope be responsible ;D

Yes XD

No

I hate full time work XD

Year has started off excruciatingly slowly (can I partly blame the concussion I gave myself on Christmas Eve? It took ages to rack off!) but otherwise all right. Oof, meanwhile it's unusually cool today (current predicted high of 23 I think) slowly increasing back to 30s over the week o_O

I am working on it, but you've see how slow I go, and do you know how long it's been? XD

Haha...Well, seems you're a decisive person then...Not. Yep, am. Not ever. Sometimes. Maybe. :)

Hot here...41 already. Sucks ass but I'm inside in the AC. Just wrote a post and am now going to go build Lego. :)

Ew glad you're able to stay cool x_x our current house is fantastic with its high ceilings, some of the previous houses I've lived in didn't have aircon and were generally hotboxes so summer was pretty awful and winter not a lot better.

I guess I'll be looking out for Lego posts then XD

Haha, Lego posts on the way Ry. 🙂
