Visit Austin's hike and bike trail

The lovely spring weather motivates me to get outside for my daily exercise. In Austin, Texas, one of the best places is the hike and bike trail. Being so busy, I don't go down as much as I would like. But I have made time for it twice this month, and I am so glad. Hopefully I can keep up the momentum.

I took my boys and dog along on Monday when I jogged the hike and bike trail. My 5 year old rode his bike happily on our 3 mile route, and my 2 year old rode in our stroller.

Just past Zilker Park, we stopped for a break at a part of Town Lake with a lot of turtles, fish and ducks. No ducks that day, but we were thrilled to see this larger than life turtle. My photo makes it hard to see his size. It was about 1.5 feet in diameter and its head was bigger than a baseball. Truly impressive!
