Holy deities of Kullu Valley. Unbelievable blog. (Part-1) ..MUST READ..
According to the Indian philosophy, there are four parts in which the overall time of the cosmos is divided into, the parts are called Yugas. After each cycle of four Yugas, the Great Destruction or Pralaya occurs and the first one repeats, thus the cycle continues. we are currently in the last Yuga i.e Kalyuga (P:S we are close to destruction😚 and it could also be this corona 😷 outbreak). It is believed that the first Yuga i.e Satyuga was the time which is longest and at that time the people were truthful and kind so, the Gods, Demigods, Rishi, Munis and other mystical powers lived with the human beings. Nowadays, we can't see such mystical non-human powers in real life. These powers and Mystics have greatly been described in our holy books, and in epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana. People of this age are becoming more and more doubtful about existence of such powers in the past too. And it is understood why they don't believe in such powers. Let us take an example; nowadays we can't believe that a person can know the thoughts of another person without the first person's verbal, written or sign language kind of interpretation of his own thought to the next person.
But the surprising thing is that even in todays era, it is possible. Above is a picture of a deity. These deities of Kullu Valley and other regions of Himachal Pradesh can do such mystical things; they can even talk to a person. And they are not even human beings. It is believed that there is a kind of power that governs these mystical powers in them. Power is because of them being the Gods, Goddess, Demigods, Rishi, Munis and other mystical powers of the previous Yugas.
In Kullu Valley, each village has its own god and the form of worshiping God is unique in every village. There are temples for each in every village. Unlike other temples, these Gods are devoid of any statues and these gods and deities act as moving beings. Each God is carried upon a palanquin, which is adorned with colorful clothes and is studded with metallic faces of Gods and Deities. A group of men lift these palanquins on their shoulders. Attendants, musicians, priests accompany these palanquins whenever they are moved out of the village or the temple.
These Gods show their emotions through these palanquins. It is believed that these Gods show every human emotion and they speak as well through the medium of the priest, which is called ‘Guurr’ in the native language. In picture below we can se a deity moving and showing a kind of emotion.
YES, they move. This is THE TRUTH.
The deity of a particular village governs the village. The order that a deity gives to its people through the gurrr has to be the final. There is enormous power in these Gods and I have felt it personally and I am a true believer of them. I know its difficult to believe but once you experience this experience yourself, then you will surely believe.
Yes, the mystical powers still exist in this era of Kalyug and these deities are living example of this. Apart from this, Kullu is a land of culture and religion. There are hundreds of stories hidden behind the mountains and valley of Kullu about which I am going to write in my future blogs. Indeed HIMALAYAS ARE FULL OF MYSTERIES.
