King’s Tomb ‘Seo Oh Neung’ Near Seoul, Korea

in #travel6 years ago

In this post, I’d like to introduce the King’Tomb of Choson Dynasty ‘Seo Oh Neung’
Kings’ tomb of Choson Dynasty were gathered mainly in Seoul and Kyeonggi province.
The owner of this tomb is King ‘Suk Jong’, 19th king and Queens.
King Suk Jong had 2 queens.
He married second times. The first queen was died, and then he married once again.
The tomb was located in the western part of Seoul.

What I saw at first was ‘Hong Sal Mun’ gate.
This gate is very unique in Confucian Society.

After the gate the stone road was lined to the ceremony building.
This road was made for the spirit of the King and the Queens.
So it was banned for tourists to walk through the stone road, but it seemed people didn't care about that.

At the end of the road, there was a building for the ceremony.

Wow such ancestry to the stone road, I guess walking through the stone road is pure disobedience by the tourist, the sacred appearances of the road is so amazing and well one will keep imagining what it'll look like for the spirits of the kings and queens to pass there, such ancient tradition. Thank you for bringing this, I loved the scenery

@slowwalker,
Wow it's a wonderful place to visit! Probably a king's place yeah we have that feeling! Great photography and a visit!

Cheers~

A sturdy gate building and made with great architecture. beautiful stone road and should be given a warning not to pass visitors. It is possible that visitors do not know it so they pass without any burden.

@slowwalker, Since Hong Sal Mun’ gate to walk further need to go on the stone road. I never seen like these made stone road still away to the temples of Korea.

it was banned for tourists to walk through the stone road, but it seemed people didn't care about that.

Ohh...now I understood better why banned to walk on the stone road to foreigners. It's good thing for preserve Koreans belief and tradition. Final building of the ceremony different looks for my point. Well explained with awesome captures.

The entrance view is amazing.... plus that building straight forward was a nice architecture; must be one of the kind that only king must build that in the ancient times!!.. Korea is a lovely with their cultures and ancient story!!
