Textual restoration of a video-essay by VertigoPolitix which was censored by YouTube. Part 2.
Here, I continue my restoration of a high-quality censored video-essay that could once be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3WGRcB5VkM.
The first part of my restoration can be found at https://steemit.com/usa/@lgcommai/textual-restoration-of-a-video-essay-by-vertigopolitix-which-was-censored-by-youtube-part-1.
In order to augment my 'static' rescurrection of the deleted video, I will now add all the pictures shown during the narration, together with brief indications of when they appear.
Please see https://steemit.com/usa/@lgcommai/textual-restoration-of-a-video-essay-by-vertigopolitix-which-was-censored-by-youtube-part-1 for my transcription of the text.
I have already published by restoration at https://twitter.com/LGcommaI/status/1131503290372509697.
The images shown are too numerous to fit into one reasonably-sized steemit-post, hence there will (hopefully) be a third part of my restoration.
The video is illustrated by still images only, EXCEPT for the very beginning: there, three brief b&w movie-clips, all of the same white boy but from different perspectives, are shown. Each of three has to with guns.
It all starts with the boy apparently loading some sort of automatic weapon:
Immediately afterwards, the same (or: very probably the same) boy is show wearing a handgun in a king of shoulder-holster/concealed-carry-holster (this scene appears when Mr. Ignatiev says "such a way"):
Roughly when Mr. Ignatiev utters the word "legacy", there is a cut to a close-up of the holster, with the boy's hand drawing the gun (or, to be very cautious: SOME very similar hand, proably said boy's hand, drawing the gun):
There then is a black screen until the narrator says "observe", at which point (fittingly) the following picture of a family around a TV set is shown:
Next, when the narrator says "passing glance", the following is shown (apparently this is Jim Parsons playing the character 'Sheldon Cooper' in the show 'The Big Bang Theory' produced by CBS):
When the narrator says "he is portrayed", the following image of the cartoon character "Homer Simpson" is shown:
When the narrator says "always deferring", the following still frame from the 2004 comedy film "Napoleon Dynamite" is shown:
When the narrator says "he now must seek", the following still frame from the 2018 action-adventure film "Robin Hood" by is shown (the two persons appear to be Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx):
When the narrator says "at which moment", the following image, available as "Adult beach boy confidence face facial expression" at https://all-free-download.com/free-photos/download/adult-beach-boy-confidence-face-facial-expression_601615.html is shown:
When the narrator says "by pure luck", the following picture is shown, which apparently is a self-portrait published by "Jesse Cox" (*1981) on 2017-11-18:
When the narrator says "has been transformed", the below picture is shown. This is a still frame from "Inglorious Basterds" (2009). (Everybody knows why this brutal film "received a bizarre amount of praise", by the way.)
When the narrator says "whenever in the presence of", the following picture, apparently this is Melissa Benoist in the titular role of the US television-series Supergirl (season 3), is shown:
When the narrator says "minority-figure", the following picture (apparently from the movie "Black Panther"; (cf. https://movieweb.com/black-panther-movie-poster-teaser-release-date/) is shown:
When the narrator says "Western white male", the following picture of Donald J. #Trump (1946‒) is shown (I could not find out who the photographer was, within the time I allowed myself to search for it):
When the narrator says "social-engineering-goal", the following (cropped version of a) famous photograph of a sooty, weathered White worker is shown (full picture can be viewed at https://fstoppers.com/photojournalistic/celebrating-125-years-national-geographic-3538; it is by B. Anthony Steward and shows a miner in West Virginia in 1938):
When the narrator says 'ethnic-European females', the following picture is shown. While the picture is easily found on the web (eg. at https://www.wallpaperflare.com/brown-haired-woman-with-blue-eyes-wallpaper-32996), it is described in generic terms only in all the places I looked ,hence I don't who the model or the photographer is
When the narrator says "thereby consider non-white", the following picture is shown. I could not find out who the photographer was. The picture is often used to illustrate migration-related content, in particular discussions of a supposed lack of loyality of women.
When the narrator says "non-white ethnic enclaves", the following image (of #Minnesota-dwelling #Somali Ifrah Mansour) is shown.
#Somalis in MN constitute an "ethnic enclave".
Apparently (cf. http://www.startribune.com/a-minneapolis-artist-is-sewing-a-new-somali-history-that-crosses-generations/334675481/), the photographer is one "David Jones" of the "Star Tribune".
When the narrator says "specifically those with high ingroup-awareness", the following image of people of color stomping on a police (?) car is shown.
This picture appears in several places on the web, e.g. at https://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/crime/300603-black-lives-matters-anti-police-crusade-makes-civil-unrest-the-new; judging from https://activatemedia.org/baltimore-explodes-in-riots-over-police-brutality/, it is perhaps an image taken during the #riots in #Baltimore in April 2015, triggered by the death of "Freddie Gray" (cf. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Baltimore_protests.
When the narrator says "that are waiting to assert their cultural dominance", the following image of demonstrators with placards depicting a color-drawing of a woman wearing the #flag of the #USA like a #hijab is shown (it appears in many places, and apparently was published by 'The Associated Press" in 2017, crediting it to "Andres Kudacki"; see e.g. https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2017-02-19/ap-source-trumps-revised-travel-ban-targets-same-countries), where it is claimed that the image shows a "rally in support of #Muslim Americans").
When the narrator says "once social barriers have been sufficiently weakened", the following image is shown, which allegedly shows protesters in a rally against the #Trump-administration's Travel Ban, 2017-02-19 in New York:
The above image is credited to "Andres Kudacki/AP", and was used in several places on the web:
When the narrator says "ethnic European males themselves", the following image is shown; it appears in many places on the web, sometimes as a free stock picture, and often in #depression-related contexts:
In the below example, the above image is credited to one "Jim Jackson":
