RE: STEEMINT Brief 001 - WhaleShares

I know how you feel - in such an environment being respectful is not only the right thing to do, it is the smart thing to do, but unfortunately conflict is not entirely avoidable, as this venue of free expression, of philosophy in-action, will reward you for your convictions .. but the more you do so, the greater the chance that your thoughts and beliefs will eventually clash with others - that is just life.

I have clashed with some individuals who I very much like and respect .. there is no need to rob yourself of a quality person just because there is some disagreement, or you simply can not see things from their pov ... but do try! even if afterward you still do not agree, you will gain something. However, when someone takes harmful action against something you support or benefit from, it is time then to disassociate .. to know which side of your toast is buttered on .. or whatever the hell that expression was. :)

Anyway, you have to do what is right for 'you'. You will not be able to please everyone all the time .. those who try have a very hard road ahead of them - if you believe you have sound basis for your own perspective, then it is right and good.

Sort:

In the real world, I totally get that.. however in this steemit world I just joined. So it's hard to associate to the right side when you are just a minnow. It's
like seeing the beginning of a gang war and you have no freaking clue what side to join lol. To me it's like a colour versus a colour and I'm still holding my suitcase as an immigrant (a peaceful one :) )

No no man .. the "conflict" you have become aware of will pass - and it is happening between a handful of bigguns - you will not be held accountable for whatever you wish to do. If you had not become aware of this "issue" you could proceed merrily down any path you chose and not be forced to 'make a decision on this at any point'. .. I was just saying, don't let this make you gunshy to any degree .. be yourself, be loud, be proud.

the new guy will ruffle some feathers.. but not before he is an older gentler whale with experience. In my life I have learned to be patient. I really am believing in steem. Haven't seen the payout or reward as of yet.. but I do believe. I believe so much that in fact, I won't put the cart before the horse. I think the elders should be watched, and the minnows should be silent. Not because of freedom, and not because of profit. It's a new system with leaders who believed before myself; and it
seems like I am the next gen that will help transform this system. However there is a history to follow and I want to be on the right side of it. That will only come from NOT being
impulsive and pissing off the wrong people before I have earned my place.

excellent .. a well-considered way forward.
all the best!
