Wow, this looks so delicious. I haven't tried cooking with tempeh before. However, after seeing this, I definitely have to try it out. :)

It's a fun protein to play around with in things, if you can get some good stuff. Most tempeh is soy, which I generally stay away from; Portland just happens to be lucky enough to have 2 different brands of soy-free tempeh.

Thank you!

Thanks so much for the reply. I think where I am most tempeh is soy based so it might take me while to find some soy-free tempeh.

Ya, that's likely. You could always substitute veggie burgers, slices of zucchini, polenta, etc for the tempeh.

man this looks sooooo good :o you making le feel soooo hungry :( relay wanna try it

Thank you! It was delicious :-)

As always - amazing food - love tempeh!

Thanks @timelapse!

Wow, this looks absolutely delicious! I'm sure its even more so to me because I've had so much of your cooking and know how phenomenal it is! Good luck in the competition, @kennyskitchen!

Thanks brother!
:-)

Just wow! I like your cooking style and the non-soy entries! I had my issues with soy in the past and I'm on a mission to spread the word among plant-based munchers that soy is not a good protein source! There are so many, non-toxic other beautiful healthy soy-free protein-rich foods! I think I might make a post of it! Thanks for the inspiration ;). But back to your food, you just combined all the things I love in one dish... from fermented/pickled foods and soy-free foods to yummy, fatty avocados and Himalayan pink! The soy-free tempeh looks amazing! Thanks for this great entry! I'll definitely try this one if I manage to make my own tempeh... Cambodia doesn't have food health stores or supermarkets with vegan alternatives and products :(

Thanks @amy-goodrich! I really appreciate it :-)

I was off soy and helping others get off it before I even went vegan. GMOs were a big part of my early awakening.

You can expect a lot more of the same from me, my focus is all around low-allergen, high-raw, lots of fermented, herbal blends for physiological effects, etc. I won't be posting for the next 3 weeks while I'm at the Rainbow Gathering, but after that I have about a month of stationary with a kitchen to look forward to.

You can always count on my support! Not only is soy poison due to GMO... it is packed with antinutrients. It seriously messed up my hormones and created clarifications in both of my breasts due to the phytoestrogens! Always looking forward to your posts. Enjoy the Rainbow Gathering and see you in 3 weeks!

Ya, soy is all sorts of gross. I can't think of any logical reason they use it in all packaged foods, besides super-villain schemes of course.

Have a wonderful beginning of Summer, see you soon :-)

I feel like this was made for me. Gluten free, vegan and I also live in Portland and could the exact ingredients. Great post, Thanks!

Awesome! People's Co-op has everything you need to make this (and most any recipe I post when I'm in Portland haha)

For sure. I go there every Wednesday for the market. Maybe I'll see you there!

Awesome, well I'll definitely be there tomorrow picking up some things before heading into the forest for the Gathering :-)

Wow @kennyskitchen I am impressed! This looks absolutely amazing... healthy yet comfort food all in one... sounds good to me! I love the look of that quinoa and chickpea tempeh, I think I may have to try making my own version of that, yummy. What a fantastic entry - great recipe, great photos, and a touch of humour too. Good luck :-)

Great, I'm very pleased to hear that! :-)
